I agree. The ref could easily blow if there is a possible pen/red card incident, wait for a replay and decision by VAR official and then give the correct decision first time. It would be done in a fraction of the time and would stop all this overturning, changing mind scenario. Everyone knows going to the monitor has one outcome.I wonder if they should simply shortcut it like rugby union. Instructing Hooper; not a foul by Dunk, no pen, yellow card for Calvert for simulation.
That’d be my preference.
The pitchside TV thing is silly.
No one in rugby union claims refs have been undermined.
