Thank you for posting this. The state of this thread. Glad I don't normally follow match-day threads. We've got a load of entitled fans.
Is it entitlement though?

It's perfectly fine to be happy with where we are and where we've come from etc etc etc AND to be concerned that we cannot keep a clean sheet and still don't appear to be able to break down teams.

Factor in a shambolic refereeing performance, Dyche-ball doing it's work and yet another VAR calamity and it's no wonder people are a bit miffed.

It doesn't mean they're entitled.

Clearly didn't watch the same game as me.
We dominated from the get go and if VAR hadn't got it wrong yet again then we'd have probably taken all 3 points.
Any Dyche team is hard to break down so we did extremely well with our possession stats and also preventing them catching us on the break.
Our goal was no more fluky than theirs.
Lallana is only ever going to be a 45min player and Milner wasn't great but we have no Estupinan, Lamptey or March so how do you suggest we fill that gap?
Terrible performance? I think not.

So clear that I and others thought it was a back pass, and 2 of our players looked to be appealing for it. I will bow to your certainty though as I only saw it the once and don't want to call you a **** for being so dismissive of my opinion on a fleeting view, though I am thinking it.
Many people misunderstand the back pass rule, and think it includes any contact with the ball before it reaches the goalkeeper.

Post match DeZerbi again going on about injuries and players sold.. Think this is hard to justify when £60m ish of players plus a Spanish loanee are on bench and dont get regular games.
Love RDZ although he said he was happy with the squad at the start of the season. Injuries have been a blow just get in with it and stop moaning.

I've not read this thread, but the only time we FINALLY started causing problems was in the 2nd half, when Mitoma actually started taking them on and going for the byline, instead of just cutting back and laying off a feeble pass (often intercepted). When he commits to beating the fullback he is absolute dynamite and causes chaos. It drove me MENTAL when I know he can have the likes of Ashley Young on toast EVERY TIME, yet kept taking the easy option.

I can only hope/assume that RDZ got in his earhole at half time at told him to get down that outside channel and start producing, because prior to that it was way, way too easy for them.

You must feel a bit shit if you are one of the players that are here and all anyone ever goes on about is the boys who left.

Not exactly a vote of confidence, it’s bad enough the fans keep doing it but the manager needs to look forward with the players he’s got.

I can only assume people are not aware of the updated back pass rules. For a back pass to be given now a player basically needs to have control of the ball, and then play a blatant pass. Any deflections back / miss controlling of the ball / challenging a player is not a blatant pass back.

But thank you for not calling me **** for merely providing an expansion of one of the few things the ref for right.

If you disagree these days with anything Albion you will be labelled entitled by the bellends.
And that's your argument for a terrible performance?
It wasn’t a terrible performance. We’ve all seen way way worse than that.

Yep no way a terrible performance .... Take out caciedo , trossy , maccer and then sprinkle some injuries in and then don't play your strongest team every game. Then you are back to being a mid table team. It ain't rocket science.

If we sell mitoma, we are back to square one I think. Probably lower mid table.

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to Match of the Day: "I'm delighted. Three games in six days, the work ethic is good, we are tactically very good and improving all the time. It is a blow to concede; we kept them quiet.

Don’t think I’ve ever known an opposition manager to use the word tactically so much. He said it at least 3 times in his pre match presser and said it there too. Making out he is a tactical genius when really he just gets physical players to be physical and play anti-football.

...but I'd rather watch us v everton than exeter, or v fulham rather than shrewsbury.
Be thankful for where we are. If you don't like it, go back to supporting the 'big' clubs
I knew this comment was coming, and it will probably be said every time we draw or lose in the Premier League.

He/she said it was a terrible performance, not me. I was arguing against it.

Mitoma was playing down our side in the second half and we were very close to the front with an almost player eye view.

The diagonal ball or ball through midfield to him was mostly blocked by an organised Everton side, meaning he mostly got line balls from Milner. Often those were just short or with his back to goal, forcing him to play backwards. On one occasion, because we had two right footers on the left, Milner simply curled it into touch with his right. Three attempted diagonal balls to him were over hit or hit at Pickford.

When he finally got some service he was devastating. It happened at the end because Everton aren’t that fit. Gueye was breathing out of his starfish early in the second.

Overall, I’m putting Everton down as a top away day. Ship and Mitre beforehand was great, it’s a superb pub, managing to be both a football pub and a beer pub and a proper working class Northern pub.

A few pints and a mystery bus tour to the ground with @jackalbion and it’s a ground full of soul. Excellent stewards, friendly bus queue chaps and enough time to get some tinnies before the train to London.

On the pitch we’ll play better and we’ll play worse. RDZ is playing a season long game. Some game management with our injuries is inevitable. And the first half could have been so different if VAR hadn’t robbed us.
