Was she the one who played Gary Oldman's missus in The Firm? Thought she was quite fit for some bizarre reason.

Not sure about the film, but think she was married to Gary Oldman...

Howard Marks, aka Mr Nice. A philosophy student from Maesteg, who was very good at playing Go. Later to become the World's Most Wanted Criminal.

Saw his artcle in the "Argus" recently. I thought you'd missed out the "D" at the end of "Go" from the way he came across...

At primary school I was in the same class as author "Last Orders" Graham Swift, and internet betting pundit Walter "Wally" Pyrah.

Pyrah even at the age of nine was mad about racing and his idol the then new kid on the block Lester Piggott.

Later on I worked in my teens alongside Andy Ripley, the Rosslyn Park and later England rugby star. Even then when only in the 2nd Park XV he was built like the proverbial brick shithouse.

And now he's dead from cancer. Very sad.

Beat this : not only did i meet David Bowie and chat with him and his band for about an hour in the dressing room at the Assembly Hall Worthing in May 1972 (just about 6 weeks before Ziggy came out, and he made it really big), but he pulled me up on stage during the encore, gave me his guitar, and I played along for a bit with the band while he did a crowd-surf, or at least tried to....only about 200 people there. 50p to get in, i recall......yet within 6 months he had sold out the Carnegie Hall.....

Plus, he also offered me and my girlfriend a lift home in his battered old Jag. We had to decline as our pushbikes were out the back !

Good job I didn't know back then that was going to be the highlight of my life......

Could have been an interesting evening if it had been a lift back to HIS home...

I lived just round the corner from Mick Jagger's family home in the 60's and regularly saw and spoke to him when he visited his parents.

Often saw Leo Sayer (well he was quite famous once - if only briefly) on the bus from The Steine out to Portslade/Shoreham.

Ran against Steve Ovett as a youth - he was shit hot........I was just shit

Leo is STILL famous especially when they revived "Thunder in my Heart" not so long ago.

I was same year at school with Matt, and was friends a bit, and my sister was schoolfriends with Becky. I'm wondering who you are now
...ha ha I've worked out who you are.

You used to do my A level maths homework for me (most mornings!).

Do you know who it is yet (and its not Noel or Ferry!)?
