There have been a few times when I have to be honest, those games in the past when i have had a real gut feeling we were going to be turned over by lower sides at decent odds. Always saw it as a consolation prize if we lost, but of course if we won id not be worried about the fiver anyway, a draw was a sod though!

I had £100 on Brighton to go down in the 2004/5 season at 7/2. Couldn't see us staying up with the players and budget we had under McGhee whilst at Withdean. When Virgo scored the goal to keep us up I was going as wild as anyone and couldn't give a stuff about the bet. I only put it on as a 'softner' should the worse happen.

Happily had £100 on us to win Div 3 in 2000/01 season at 10/1 and the following season had £50 E/W on Bobby Z being Div 2 top scorer at 25/1 both coming in netting me just in excess of £2700 across the two seasons.

For my sins I opened up 5 accounts (I never bet usually - I was advised by a gambling mate of mine) last year and put £225 worth of 'free bets' they offered on Palace to win at The Amex. I considered it a free insurance policy.

I won £1225 in the end which softened the blow of the defeat a bit.

I then (with the help of my mate) laid the £225 I had to spend to open the accounts on Betfair and got almost all of it back.

Sorry!

Never can bet against us. Mind you, the only betting I do is on here with V-cash.

Didin't do too badly last season, finished in joimt fourth on the score predictor. (One up for the girlies!)

Unfortunately, splashed what little V-cash I had left on us to beat Birmingham.

Never, I have stopped betting on the Albion full stop.

I did however used to stick a quid on an Albion 1-0 with Butters scoring first.

No, I can't make rational bet on something I am emotionally invested in. On the guess the score threads (is there going to be one for the swindon game?), I always pick what I think is the most likely positive score, never a losing outcome.

My brother phone me once before a Palace game and asked if I wanted to go. I replied, "yes get two tickets." Meaning get me and the missus one. All week I spent teaching her the songs and even promised her Chinese in China town afterwards. You can imagine the fuss when brother phoned to tell me he only got two tickets. One for me and one for him.

On the way out of the door to go to the game. I asked the missus if she wanted to have a bet on the game. In spite she threw a fiver at me and said put that on Palace to beat you 5 0. To spite her I put the bet on. I nearly divorced her when I got home with her £250.

I am always adamanat that i will never bet on my own team, it never works out the right way. A friend of mine often has us somewhere in his accumulator and we are always the ones that mess it up.

Nope. I never bet for or against the Albion. With no justification, I seem to think that whatever I bet will affect the outcome of the match. Its more superstitious that moral for me.

I do however, ALWAYS indirectly bet against England because there's no chance of success in any arena. For example, I always indirectly bet against England by backing Spain (something that has won we over £100 over the last 6 years). Mind you, I don't care about England anywhere near as much as I care about Brighton...
