I actually hope we get a tough group as an easy group at the last world cup didn't really materialise that way. Just want to avoid the RoI

Probably would bring the best out of us.

It''s a very strong set of teams who have qualified this time round, and whoever England get, we're going to have at least two very difficult games and will do very well merely to get out of the group. I'm sure most of the teams in the other pots of seeds would prefer us over Russia, Italy and of course, Germany.

My guess is that Netherlands, Portugal and Czech Republic will be drawn in England's group - 4 points from the three games and out on goal difference.

I'd love the draw of Spain Portugal and France.

would be well up for all of those games. I dont fancy our chances of going through, but i think we will raise our game and it would be better than seeing us scrap through with a 1-0 win over Greece.

Bring on the GROUP of death.

England's Group: Czech, Poland, Greece

Ireland's Group: Portugal, Germany, Spain

As per, England get the duds, and Ireland get the best.

Why? We have a far better record in international tournaments (and qualifying for them) than Russia over the last 10-15 years.

That may be the case, but without trying to pass off too much of a sweeping generalisation here, the Russian team will feel almost like they're at home in this tournament. Most of them will be used to the places they'll be playing at, and they'll more than likely bring the most travelling fans (which can't be a bad thing). Also, given that their season will have only just started in June, most of their players will feel fresher as well.

England might have a good qualifying record for international tournaments, but they've not got further than the last eight since Euro '96 and have hardly set the tournament alight in anything they've qualified for since then, most notably the last two World Cup campaigns.

Whilst we've had some good results in recent friendlies, I really think the current England side (especially Rooneyless) is probably the weakest we've had for a good 20 years and most of the other nations will fancy their chances against us. (I do really hope that comment comes back to bite me come next July, I hasten to add)

Really looking forward to it.

I said to a girl I work with who's from the Czech Republic, I reckon they'll be in England's group.

We need a tough group, definitely. Otherwise we'll stutter and blunder past Denmark, Croatia and Ukraine, and then get taken apart by Netherlands or someone in the Quarters. If we start against France, then have to play Portugal, then WHAM, we're straight in there and fighting for our lives. Should we then get through the group we will be ready to take on the Germans or whoever, and for a change we'll have confidence and the country behind us.

We WANT the group of DEATH.
