Do they believe this,or do they expect us to believe it?
10/10 for imagination tho.

Obviously a load of bollocks, but I'm sure they will be after some of our players again. It's the Chelsea way. We effectively ruin their season in two games, and they probably resent us for ripping them off so many times, and so would love to actually make a decent signing from us in order to get the 'last laugh'.

If they wanted to pay silly money, all of our boys have their price. A ridiculous price. That only Chelsea or Saudis would be willing to pay.

Out of the prices quoted, I'm sure TB would consider most of them. Except Georginio - the rumour creating 'journalist' has clearly not done his research. Would expect, based on this season, we would want at least £80m+ for him.

well for a start it says "Under the management of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea has frequently targeted Brighton's talents," which is totally wrong as under Maresca they havent signed anyone at all from us
The story-lacking any sources at all simply says Chelsea want 5 players and names them and a made up price for each. It repeats this same info about 4 times , provides no sources whatsoever and reads like its been written by a young teen after too many sherbet dips!

Jeez! Where to start with that drivel? Rutter's €50m is £41m at the current rate, which is just a tiny fraction more than the club paid for him, apparently. Also, I thought Barco was loaned with an obligation to buy?

Mind you, we DO live in a world where people will seemingly believe any old shite, so it's not surprising that the will get some bites on such clickbait.

🤣

Seems like we have now reached the stage where you can write any old junk online and they'll still be folk who fall for it.

I think a far more likely scenario that the one outlined in the sports cafe article, is that the journalist is a Chelsea fan, and is annoyed how we embarrassed them recently and decided to show everyone how "big" Chelsea are by writing a story about how they're going to buy our players.
Of course i have nothing to base that on, but then clearly neither did the journalist when writing his fiction.

pretty sure Chelsea dont have that sort of money to throw around anymore, they'll maybe make an enquiry for one or two, just to play up for the fans (on both sides)

Statistically there’s a good chance that they might be allowed to sign one of them.

Does 20% right make the story credible I wonder?

I can understand why Chelsea desperately want a different LB! Maybe they could buy Barco from Strasbourg if they bid high enough. Based on our experience, he could be a perfect fit for the Chelsea club culture.
