I'm sure that Buckingham already have a decent reputation but given the aesthetics of our stadium, combined with the complexity of the build and the fact they came in right on time and budget, they really are the bees knees!

Just read a piece on the Amex stadium website that says there will be a Jehova's Witnesses convention at the Amex on the 29th June where a special platfrom will be erected on the East stand, I wonder whether all the seats will be installed by then in that case? Anyone know.....article below;

Event: Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention
Date: 29/06/20129.20am to 4.55pm

Jehovah’s Witnesses are looking forward to holding their three-day annual Bible-based convention this year at the Amex Stadium, starting Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July inclusive.

The Witnesses have outgrown the Brighton Centre, where they have met for the last 17 years, so the American Express Community Stadium has arrived at just the right time.

The extra seating capacity will enable Witnesses from other locations to meet too - from south London, the Kent borders and even into Hampshire. In total there are more than 133,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the UK.

Many Witnesses are Albion supporters, and season ticket holders, so they regularly sit in the stadium for matches but will soon do so for a different reason - and in different seats!

The entire programme is also open to members of the public who may wish to attend and all are welcome for any part of the three-day programme, without charge - and no collections are ever taken. Session times are from 9.20am to 4.55pm on all three days.

A platform will be constructed in the East Stand from where the programme will be delivered.

The convention, with the theme “Safeguard Your Heart” (Prov 4: 23) is designed to strengthen faith during these troubled times and will show how applying Bible principles can enable Witnesses to avoid problems and to make their lives meaningful and successful. One of the main features will be a talk entitled “The Former Things Will Not... Come Up Into the Heart.”

Other convention highlights will include a play entitled “What is True Love?” and a full costume drama reenacting a Bible account with practical application and value for all today. These presentations are especially enjoyed by families with young ones and teens.

There will be around 45 other short talks and presentations altogether many with interviews and demonstrations.

A special pool will be temporarily erected within the ground to enable everyone to watch the water immersion of those newly dedicated, making this a unique feature.

The convention at the Amex will be one of 41 such events held throughout the UK this year (including many in foreign languages), and hundreds worldwide - in 236 countries.

Wouldn't be surprised if that attracted a considerably larger crowd than Fatboy Slim.

Are they enlarging the North Stand too? Seem from the above picture that they have moved the goalposts already!

At the moment East stand upper seating, south stand - hospitality/executive boxes/players lounge and a sky sports/bbc box in the north stand.
December, south east and west seating in corner
2013 north corners

job done!

I onced worked on the timing systems at a Speedway Grand Prix at the stadium in Wroclaw. When we left the site at midnight, after the event, the place looked like it had been hit by an airstrike - such was the devastation wreaked by 20,000 beered up Polish speedway fans.

When we came back in at 10am the next morning to pack up our kit, there was an ARMY of women, going through the seats and terraces with bin bags and cleaning products, picking up all the debris, and cleaning and polishing every seat. By lunchtime, the place was immaculate.

Turns out that every year, after the big speedway event, they rent out the stadium to either the Jehovah's or some other religious types, and in prepartion for their rally, they 'cleanse' the stadium, saving the stadium authority a fortune in clean-up costs.

Not at this stage I think that is the final stage of expansion.

One of the downsides of being in the East, is staring into the sun when the weather's good. Do you think some of the seats in the East Upper will be high enough to be unaffected by the constant south coast sunshine?

I originally wanted to sit in the East . I had this notion of my Amex experience with the vast West stand structure as the back drop. It wasn't until someone mentioned the sun would be in my eyes that I decided on the WSL. Not heard of any gripes from the ESL , so hopefully not an issue.

It was only sunny for a couple of games this year anyway. Those in the ESU should be okay as sitting near the back at the current ESL the sun wasn't too much of an issue until around half time. Nothing a pair of sunnies won't fix, anyway.
