Your twelth post! Was it worth it? You have only posted a 5 years old's picture?
If you were a Manchester United fan you would seriously want your club the be worse just so that the national team as a few more players to choose from!?

I bow to your VASTLY superior post count.
Why are the foreign imports better than the English youngsters? That is not the fault of a chap from Senegal. If a player is good enough at 15/16/17 then a club will take them on. Why aren't we producing decent talent? Surely the problems start at a younger age rather than having their paths blocked by foreign players.
Our current 'superstars' were starting out when the foreign influx had not really got hold of the league and they haven't exactly performed on the international stage.

No but are those "superstars" worthy of that title, or are we clutching at straws because they are all we have been left with?
The whole point is that we need a far bigger youth set-up (and beyond) to nurture young english talent. That will not be provided by Premiership teams any more, and the FA cannot afford it because the Premiership has grabbed all of English football's money. All we look to be left with are smaller clubs like Brighton bringing through local talent on very limited budgets with poor facilities.
played with a straight bat sir!
whether racist or xenophobic it has no place in sport so let's just get on and support our club eh? At the end of the day if home grown players are good enough they will make the grade. Overseas or home players who price themselves out of a contract will be equally successful (or not).
His point was that those "superstars" were brought through in a period where it was only starting to become popular to bring in foreign players. It is only now where young english players are actively competing with these foreigners for places in teams.
How on earth can you say that will not be provided by Premiership teams anymore?
Indeed, it is not actually viable yet to say whether competition for English players at a young level has had a bad effect- the competition may well spur them on.
Oh for f***'s sake, xenophobia is an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange. You pathetic little man! Xenophobia is the crux of international sport! Are you expecting us all to want Germany to win the next World Cup or something? Or how about China to top the Medal Table at the 2012 Olympics? People should be proud of their country, and support it above all others!
There's only one Erik Midtgarden on Facebook. His profile picture -
Least he's scrubbed up a bit from the pictures posted earlier.

Another word that could be used is ignorance.....
Being proud of your country is not being xenophobic, not to most of us balanced, right minded folk anyway.
IMHO
What's the big deal about a Norwegian joining anyways?
Theres plenty of their DNA in the English population already anyway.
