Just watched it this morning with my daughters, happily managed not to know the result. Great stuff, if that was your club defending like that to hang on to a big win you'd be delighted. Germany/France QF still the best match I've seen, but now three very strong semi-finalists plus the England interest, perfect line-up.

They all seem to be having the tournament of their dreams including the manager, everything he has touched in the way of selection and subs seems to have worked out superbly.

How many women's games have you watched in the last few WCs, and how many men's? I'm guessing you watch the men a lot more, so men get paid a lot more, regardless of how annoying they are.

I fully appreciate the point you're making, and is it a very valid one, but I personally didn't watch that many games from the last men's World Cup, I kind of lose interest when England are out and this is something that happens all too quickly.

Fell asleep on the sofa about 30 minutes in, but woke up at 01:40 to see the ladies get over the line.

"It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home..."

Our pathetic men's team have spent the last 50 years achieving absolutely f all. The FA should disband the men's team and pour all the finances into the women's national team and make useless twats like Ashley Cole, Terry Butcher, Gary Lineker, Ray Clemence, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and all the rest wash the women's kit, carry their bags, drive the team bus etc.

Firstly, well done to the girls. Thought Canada were the better team but England rode their luck well.

As for the post above, they haven't won anything yet. Add to that the level of football at the womens world cup is hardly the same as at the mens. Getting fed up with these constant comparisons. Yes, we are all disappointed about the lack of success of the men's team but does it have to descend into tit for tat bragging!

I think you might be taking my post a bit literally/seriously drew! (although I would like to see John Terry emptying the sanitary bins)
