Except 12 - 15 look a wash out, however, 13 wickets in two days is achievable.

Perhaps, but Test cricket is about winning series. That’s the point - he’s made 100% sure that they’ve done so.

They might yet win this Test, too, but there was no reason to take liberties. Had England been 1-0 down, or even level, then the thinking would have been completely different.

And also, whose to say that long term, giving Crawley and Buttler the chance to make those big scores, won’t be of more benefit to England’s future success, than the result if this one (now dead) rubber?

What about the international test league ?

Win 2-0 we go above Australia, win 1-0 and we don't.

Why not start at 10.30 with overs to make up and weather forecast saying rain between 11-1?

It was considered yesterday. They have to make a decision early. My understanding was that the original forecast said early rain so they went ahead at usual time.

Archer is currently bowling at a similar average speed to Broad and Anderson.... at what point does it get concerning that we haven’t seen his proper express pace consistently since the ashes last year?

Cranking it up now

To enforce the follow on or not to enforce the follow on ? (if the option comes up).

Root not keen on it but Tuesdays weather forecast is very poor so need to wrap this up tomorrow afternoon.

Anderson has two drops off his bowling in the same over, a bit of northern chuntering no doubt ensued... :lolol:
