Somewhere between 280/300 should be the declaration IMO

I would have sent Curran out, not Pope. This is farcical from the West Indies, reviewing nonsensical decisions.

Why is the umpire not calling balls deliberately bowled down the leg side as a wide?

That’s 2 times now the fielders have touched the boundary whilst fielding and the third umpire hasn’t seen it, absolutely blind.

I might have preferred to dangle the 275/280 carrot for a series win in England, now they will just dead bat it.

^Wouldn’t be a cricket thread without TCB shitting on Root :lolol:

Thing is most of us Sussex supporters remember Trout being the typical quintessential English Old Boy captain who'd always make a game of it by declaring early, we always lost but...............

Root is a joke captain. Does he seriously think the West Indies are chasing 305 (and counting) in 85 overs? This is eating away the crucial overs we will have with the second new ball. Terrible captaincy in my opinion.

I’m not saying it’s right but is part of Root’s rationale that he can keep his close fielders in throughout the innings rather than having one eye on their scoring rate if we don’t make early inroads.

I've never liked Stuart Broad but you can't argue with his impact last night and now with this wicket.
