And the inane celebrity culture surrounding it and everything else these days is a profoundly depressing reflection on the public.

but isnt that the whole point? a sad reflection of what celebrity has become. once upon a time this was exactly the sort of thing that would get people interested, because people wanted to see entertainers doing somthing. but due to overload we dont give a shit about a bunch of celebrities playing a charity football game.

from what i saw of the first half, i've seen worse professional games, at least for entertainment. Last night springs to mind.

Clarence Seedorf was amazing. At 36 he's still got the magic. I'm sure a few Premier League clubs might possibly offer him a one-year deal although his wages would be high.

Highlight of the night was Gordon Ramsay constantly getting hacked down. Glad to hear he was ok though after he was stretchered off and needing oxygen.

A bit of fun not to be taken too seriously with some big ego's out there and 4million raised for charity. Everyone's a winner. :clap2:

There must have been more to the Ramsay/Sheringham thing than meets the eye - a completely needless and full-on nasty collision and then Sheringham rubs his hand all over Ramsay's face while the bloke's lying on the ground immobile.

I don't suspect for one moment that Frankie Boyle is actually 'Pro famine'.

Agreed.

Why some people feign 'grief and outrage' at something that is obviously in bad taste to make you guiltily chuckle is beyond me.

Your apparent superior feeling of compassion must make you extremely dull.
