Broad is a really exquisite batsmen. If he worked on it a bit more he could be a top order player IMO.

Pretty sure when he was a youth player he was a top order batter who didn't bowl.

Yeah, initially following in the footsteps of his Dad. His batting now is funny to watch though. He looks like Gower at times. That don't move your feet cover drive thing looks exquisite.

Having just survived a 'very close' stumping review... Stuart Broad sticks one down deep midwickets throat.

47 from 38 balls, 9 fours :clap2:

466-8 approaching lunch.

I know you can only play what is in front of you... but it might just be something to do with the opposition?

No. We are world beaters once more

You have a point, but they could have collapsed again yesterday and didn't so that's a positive. And everyone from Bell down has scored well which should take some pressure off Cook so that he can play a more patient game and start scoring heavily again. Ali looks a good player and Root has played very well. Promising is the word I would use to describe things so far.

Plunkett clearly had spinach for lunch!

Thrashing away out there... perhaps he fancies a bowl?

However, if Sri Lanka post 630-4 with Sangakkara 224 not out, which is entirely possible, we may have to rethink.

Someone tweeted the Barmy Army yesterday that they should sing "Moeen, Moeen, Moeen, Moeeeeeen" to the tune of Dolly Parton's "Jolene".

Have I been able to get that out of my head for the past 24 hours? No.

And now you won't either

Should go into "slap it around" mode now and declare half an hour before tea.
