Agree, I like Strauss a lot and think he's been an excellent captain and filled the role as it should be filled. You do have to worry when captains drop out of form though, especially if they are an opener.

Is Chopra ready?

It used to be Carberry, but he doesn't seem to be playing much anymore?

Jimmy Adams?
Adam Lyth?

Nash to cover the part-time spin of KP?

We mustn't lose sight of the fact that whilst Strauss has shouldered the burden of captaincy other players - particularly Trott and Cook - have flourished. If Strauss goes, Cook gets the gig and is paired with a rookie to open we could then have an even bigger problem, particularly now that Pietersen has thrown his toys out of the pram.

I don't see any openers on the county circuit consistently scoring hundreds and banging on the door. It's ever so slightly worrying.

Here's hoping it won't be a James Taylor Quartet of wickets...

Cook loses patience and nicks a wide one. 7 off 40 balls. Still, at least the Boks were 50-odd for 4 in their 1st Inns...
