Unfortunately this just papers over the cracks and extends the clowns reign even longer.

Quite. Owen & Heskey up-front in 2007. The things some managers will do to save their jobs. How on earth does that help build for the future? :nono:

Oh cheer up you miserable bastards. We're winning 2-0 if you hadn't noticed.

This clown has brought some style and flair back to the England team. For the 1st time in years I have seen 3 games ( well 2 and a half so far) where I've actually enjoyed the way England play.

It has taken a year for McClaren to get England players to shake off the negative fearful style of play instilled by the most dull manager I have ever had the misfortune to have manage my national team. Sven was a complete dick who ruined the England team. Yeah yeah quarter finals but all brought about by football to shoot yourself too and then BIG capitualtion when it mattered.

Hail McClaren a man who has brought back an England team that plays to their strengths and doesn't try to imitate Italian sides.

How many "ruddy faced prick" outers are big enough to admit they got it wrong??????

But NOW we look like a team who enjoy their football and that's what it's all about. It is possible to play good football and win, something that passed Sven and his fans by :bigwave:

Are you basing the renaissence of English football upon 45 minutes against a Russia team with five key players injured, and an England team picked by default due to our own injuries? Wake up

Fair enough. But why was Sven allowed to get away with it for so long?

Because he wore the Emperor's new Clothes and had done rather well in Italy? He stumbled to a few 1-0 results in dire games which were hailed as all that was needed and on that basis we were gonna win the World Cup or Euros?

Actually I have no idea really but McClaren on the last 3 games seems to be working it out. If he can resist all calls to bring back Beckham EVER, then he'll continue to have at least one NSC'er backing him

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Its just like watching Brazil..............

errrrr not...

Judge by results - would you prefer an astonishingly tedious 1-0 win, or a magnificient end to end thrilling 4-5 defeat. In the long term no-one remembers the losers.

No I'm saying we have played well for 3 games and I really don't remember the last time we did that. If you want to slit your wrists over the fact that we lost narrowly to Germany, beat Israel and are currently beating Russia with some decent football...don't let me stop you.

I can't see the game unfortunately because it is on ESPN in Australia which I don't have. Is Gareth Barry playing central or left midfield?
