I f***ing hate Portugal, we gave it our best, and it clearly isn't good enough, its not the players, its the team, and thats down to management, I guarantee it won't improve under McLarens reign either.

at least we're not cheating slimey ****s

and Hargreaves played like a true English Gent, fighting fairly to the death, the rest can watch and learn from that

If it was 4 that push, I hope the ref is kicked out and Ronaldo is giving a serious kicking back at Old Trafford.

Well done to England a lion hearted performance.

Now that Australia are out and England as well i won't be watching the world cup again this tourney.

Germany are the only team left with a bit of balls and don't cheat and roll about like weak as piss girls.

I don't know why but i get the impression FIFA and it's cronies don't seem to like any team with a bit of Anglo in it.

I am still proud of the players.

But not the system, the lack of directional management, the poor tactics, the lack of forwards, the reliance on short impact players ..

Players lioke Beckham must be devasted. He has played for an England side that on their day can match anyone, that on their day, 10 England players can match any side.

But he will never have a world cup and will he be needed for an European hampionship where it is likely he will not appear!

Well done lads f*** of Sven and the useless ****s that lick your arse and the appalling FA who put their own clubs b4 our national side!

LC and bitter.

Keeper Jens Lehmann was handed notes before each kick to give him an edge in Germany's shootout win over Argentina.

Lehmann, who saved two penalties, was given a slip of paper before each kick detailing where the kicker was likely to put it.

Coach Oliver Bierhoff said: "He watched videos of all the penalties Argentina have taken in the last two years.

"He then consulted notes with our goalkeeping coach because you don't know who's on the list until the time."

Few noticed the move at Berlin's Olympiastadion, which was mastermined by Germany's Swiss-born chief scout Urs Siegenthaler.

Bierhoff added: "Before our knockout games against Sweden and Argentina we gave Lehmann information on the possible penalty takers.

"We then just told him to save two penalties, in case he forgot."

Germany's attention to detail and painstaking preparation maintained their remarkable record of never having lost a penalty shootout in a major tournament.

Knowing Fergie he will keep him, but I dread to think of what could happen.

Was it Alpay who never played for Villa again after acting the goat with Beckham when Turkey played England ?

I think it was because Alpay left the country and then started to play for Urawa Reds in Japan.

Then the same will happen to Ronaldo and it looks like he gobbed off at Rooney prior to the KO as well
