I’m not a cheat. Everything I have, I earned honestly.

I hate cheating including our players doing it. If you don’t believe me you should hear me when one of ours feigns injury or dives. It’s ruining the game.

Forgetting a bit of ink injected in his skin, I don’t give a toss. For pathetic diving he should be put on tv and asked to defend himself. I’m pissed off at past players and alike protecting cheats.

If he does that in Russia having been booked for challenge or something we’re down to 10 and you just know he will show zero remorse.

I like Southgate. Think he’s doing well with an average group of players and I like the way he’s dealing with the nonsense associated with the job. The was he has dealt with the Sterling non-issue has shown great intelligence and maturity.

Stopped getting excited about England years ago. Italia 90, and Euro,’s in 96 were the highlights.
We were decent and a bit unlucky in '98 too.

How much would Dunk be worth now, if he was playing for England? :jester:

Obviously Nigeria did.

Leaving England's players looking shell shocked, hoofing, disjointed.

I've been one of the NSC optimists about England this summer. Now that's taken a big dent. My suspicion, but I hope I'm wrong, is that Lingard, Alli, Sterling, etc look good in the CL/PL because they're playing alongside Eriksen, Lukaku, Silva, De Bruyne.

Lukaku aside, that's the crux of it. The other 3 are world class midfielders capable of opening up teams with a simple through ball. We haven't got anyone close to their calibre in or out of the current squad. Shelvey at a push comes close.

.....and he was sharp, as sharp as knives.

He used a friendly just to practice his dives........

And we will all go down..............

So rather than a specialist centre half, Southgate will put Walker in the middle with Maguire injured [emoji848]

It has been shown in previous games that Southgate is going to play with 3 at the back and 2 wing backs with Walker on the right of the 3. So there is no room for another CB as the 3 today and Maguire will form the base of the team defence.

Absolutely.

I’m normally optimistic, but this is the worst England team in my lifetime.

Perhaps Kane is World Class, but that is it. None of the others are IMO.

You're possibly right but lets face facts here, the "golden generation" went out and underachieved.

We are at our lowest ebb and these young lads just need to not completely **** it up at a major tournament and we have a little improvement to work with.

Just don't lose to another Iceland boys and I will be happy.

I don’t see the need for the awful ‘England Band’. They should be banned and I blame them for all failures since 1966!

They're bloody awful, should have been binned long ago in my view.

I mean, FFS, what the **** are this lot still doing anywhere near this side? Please PLEASE bin these ****ing twats off

Don't you have volume controls on your remotes? Watch the game without sound, so you can't hear the band, and for a double bonus, you don't hear Hoddle droning on and on.

No, let's encourage them! Make sure they're on the plane to Russia, with all their instruments. Then, when Putin's thugs attack to innocent English football fans, let this gallant band OK, crap, but gallant band) of super-supporters lead the counter attack as the plucky English supporters turn to confront the red army (thinly disguised as random Russian football hooligans). What a moment of national pride as an out of tune rendition of The Great Escape moves fearlessly towards the enemy!

(The rest of the English supporters at this point should 'ck off sharply and leave them to it.......................................)

Why is everyone so down on this England team?

They have weaknesses and limitations just like the Albion, they are not going to bring back a trophy, just like the Albion.

However, they have some good qualities and are a young team. Perhaps we should enjoy the tournament and give the boys a bit of encouragement?

I am determined to enjoy this world cup and England as much as possible.

Maybe, just maybe we might impress.
