Boucher only took one test wicket and didn't score a hundred or stump anyone in that match. Graeme Smith bowled all 11 of his players in that test against the Windies where Chris Gayle got a triple hundred and the Windies ran up 747ao in their reply to South Africa's 588.

No he didn't, not in the same match. I didn't read the question, got all excited that I knew the answer and the rest is history.

Dhoni bowling begs the question: has there ever been a player in test history who in the same match has taken a wicket, stumped a batsman and scored a hundred?

I believe there's a few, Mark Boucher is definitely one.....

As far as I can see, the answer is no, no-one's ever done it. Boucher's one and only test wicket came against the Windies in 2005. In his only batting innings he was not out for 11, and didn't execute a stumping.

Sten, that list of all keepers that have bowled throws up an incredible match betwen England and Australia at The Oval in 1884. Back then there were only 4 balls in an over:

Aus 551ao off 311 (!) overs. All 11 of England's team bowled including wicketkeeper the Hon. Alfred Lyttelton whose figures were 12 overs, 5 maidens, 19 runs, 4 wickets.
Eng 346ao off 198 overs. England's No. 10 batsman (WW Read) scored 117 off 120 balls. Lyttelton came in at No. 9 and scored 8.
Eng 85/2. Lyttelton then completes a remarkable match by opening the batting and scoring 17. Match drawn.

Their batting equivalent is VVS Laxman. ONLY 16 tons in 204 test innings - Pietersen, Cook and Strauss are past that in considerably less innings, yet the guy's scored 8,146 test runs @ 47 and a half so an almost identical record to Geoff Boycott. He'd be 4th All-Time on the English runs list with a decent shout of getting 800 more and becoming No. 1.

You'd pay good money to watch Laxman score a century though - he may have had fewer innings than the others but he'd have had considerably more classy shots. I don't think there's a more graceful batsman in test cricket right now

It would be great to be there, but I have to admit Lord's prices (and the Oval, come to that) have stopped me going to international cricket these days, £70-£80 or even more is just too much. I find watching Sussex is much better value for a day out.

Lord's are selling 'late tickets' today, just put on sale at 3pm for the evening session starting at, what, maybe 4.15pm? They are pricing even those at £25 for one session at one hour's notice. I'd have thought £10-£15 tops for that.

Just like racist Chelsea fans back in the day who used to ignore any Chelsea goals scored by their black players, I have removed the South African's run tally from my scorecard, which currently reads England 194 for 5 - on that basis let's hope Englishman Prior can score some runs or we might be in a spot of bother....oh hang on!

I'd have a bit of a problem if the likes of Pietersen topped the All-Time runs, hundreds, matches played test stats for England but fortunately it looks as though Alistair Cook by dint of age is destined to hold these records. Therefore, on this basis, let the Boks score freely...
