Carsley got that all wrong and did nothing to change it. From the word go Greece tore England apart all over the pitch. Coaches can and do stem the tide, RDZ and Hurzeler have shown us that mid games, without the embarrassment of riches Carsley had.

Nations League … yes it does matter, Wembley games are prized and not to be gifted away. Stones said he was gutted. No nonchalance that just the Nations League.

Carsley …. that was a 0/10. Should’ve made an early sub or two and changed the set up.
Yes. That was laughable. A team full of the talents, with zero plan, strategy or tactics.

It was obvious we were f***ed after the first 5 minutes.

Not sure if it was a lack of nous and balance, or a lack of tactics.

The thing that amazes me is that after 7 years and a well-telegraphed departure of Southgate, England had no succession plan.

Can you imagine Tony Bloom randomly giving Andrew Crofts 6 games in the EPL to see whether he might, you know, be OK, if Fab were to leave?

FFS. Amateurish wank. Unbelievable.

Yeh agree, we need another Terry Venables type coach IMO, not that there's anything like that out there.
Yes, playing football that’s outdated by 30 years is definitely the way forward.

In fact we’d have probably won 1996 if only we’d played in red, used a heavy orange laced ball and let Alan Ball kill half our opponents.

The ultimate insult is …. Guehi is better.

Stones and Rice the only top class defensively minded players out there. Surrounded by chaos.
Look where Stones was when the ball went in the net ….. 5 times. For their 2nd he was nearly level with Pickford. Very poor everywhere tonight.

I was more thinking of the leadership qualities
If Venables had quashed the drinking culture and laddism (that would have resulted in bullying of ugly powder puffs like Foden and the Chelsea munter whose name has momentarily escaped me) he would have been good.

There are countless elite managers available. Many are English. That lad at Luton. There will be others. Carsley is......well. An under 21 boys manager. And he needs to f*** off. f*** right off now. f*** off.

I lost the desire to watch England along time ago, mainly focus on what's important.
No need for me to mention what team ;)

That was just so disappointing. I can't remember being so disappointed by an England performance.

Just a waste of time isnt it. Players can't be bothered. Another rubbish tournament. What's the point?

Seems to be so many England games these days.

Ok, I'm guilty of recency bias. It doesn't take away from the ineptitude of tonight's performance against another nation of 10 million people.

Tonight was astonishing. Outplayed by underdogs at home for 90 minutes, the coach did little to alter that, up front a rag tag bunch of too many selfish players thinking they were Messi when in possession.
