So here we go again, a friendly against the 'Old Enemy'. However, not sure whether it's Steve McLaren (who like most it seems, I think was great mistake), the number of injuries or just general apathy but I simply am not interested.

You going to watch it ?

Of course I'm interested and care, it's against Germany. My fear is that we will be humbled and I expect to be swearing at the tv long before the end.

I hope they put in the work, effort and passion that the cricket team did last night

then I'll be happy :)

Always interested when we place Germany but I fear for us tonight with lack of goal scorers

Really not bothered. It holds about as much interest for me as our reserve game last night. Mainly because it is a friendly between two reserve (at best) teams.

There are plenty of reasons to be pissed off with England, but it doesn;t mean I don;t care. I;ll be a very interested spectator tonight, even if it just gives me something else to RANT about later.

I wouldn't say I don't care, and I'll watch it - but it's the least bothered about an England v Germany game I've ever been. Normally it's a huge occasion.

Combination of a lot of things - but mainly the overwhelming sense of 'average' that pervades the England team at the moment. The manager is average (at best), the players are average, the entertainment is average. Not many pulses are being set racing.

I only care because the game is big in name only, plus the huge rivalry.

But as friendlies go, I tend not to watch them as they are very pedestrian like games.

Is there such a thing as a friendly against Germany or Argentina? It may be called that but I hope there is nothing friendly in the way we play this game, there certainly won't be from the Germans. I can't see that it will be pedestrian either.

On another point, was 1966 the last time we beat the Germans in a meaningful game on the World or European stage. (I discount the 1-5 because it was a qualifying group and we both qualified didn't we?)

I am torn between wanting us to fail in order to see the back of McLaren, and do well so that we get to the Euros. Either way, I'm convinced we will be a shambles should we qualify, so in an ideal world we will win the next few games (which I have also paid to see), qualify for the tournament, and then watch McLaren self-destruct next summer.

Im with you there, Not even the Olympics would make up for the lack of Soccerball - however Mcclaren out of a job is tempting too.

Yes. I'll be watching and I'll want England to win (as I nearly always do. The one exception being when we played France when Howard Wilkinson was the caretaker). Although I will settle for a draw and a good performance.

No. We beat them 1-0 in Euro 2000. Shearer scored.

I'm interested to see Owen and Richards in action and am looking forward to seeing Beckham again. It should be a decent game and hopefully Lampard will get injured.
