What that result does it give us some respect. I thought Stevie G was excellent.

Me too first time I've enjoyed watching an England game for a while, a friendly played at a good tempo Wilshire brilliant Rooney looked a bit like his old self also good games from Gerrard , Walcott & Hart
"it's coming home it's coming , footballs coming home "

Don't want to get too carried away but have to agree there's a better feeling about England now. They've come a long way since the shite of 2010. I know some England 'fans' aren't happy unless their slagging the national team off, well it's the done thing isn't it. England are boring & the players have no passion. It's easy to be brain dead & say that but we're looking a lot fresher & the belief is back. I liked Hodgsons appointment from the start. This guys a professional & his message is getting through tongue players. There's plenty to be positive about. Just need to lose the stigma now.

Great to hear England played well. I have to say I have a huge amount of respect for Hodgson so I'm particularly pleased for him, and we clearly have one or two very promising and likable youngsters.

I watched the second half - the first England match I've watched in God knows how long. I surprised myself and enjoyed the game. We played pretty well and apart from Rooney who was just an angry waste of space we looked like a half decent team. I might try to go for watching a full game next time. To carry on Sheebo's theme, England-wise I've gone from atheist to agnostic. Great stuff.

First half was miles, miles better. Catch it if you can.

Just a shame we have the wrong manager in charge who will inevitably bottle it in the WC and pick the most conservative XI possible
