It is pissing down here, so they'll be off in the next few minutes.

can we make them play please or otherwise its too easy for them to leave all the time

I'd rather they bowl wide, stop them scoring freely and build pressure rather than the opposite which would be easy balls to put away them going for 4/5 an over

Think Anderson needs to go back over the wicket, he's bowling way too wide at the moment. No threat to the stumps at all.

I knew that would work! Wicket

at last a wicket now can we pitch it up

Mark, you are not really a patient man are you. I mean 22 is hardly a great opening stand and you didn't even give Broad an over to get it right.

You do realise a test last 5 days and not 30 minutes don't you.

mark - you're embarrassing yourself posting each over moaning when nothing happens.

Just stick to posting at the end of the session or something, it would be a lot less tedious to read.

i know its 5 days but i just feel we need to pitch it and make them play simmo

Ok mate, I am sure the bowlers realise that. It is just a question of getting it right, bowlers don't try and bowl sh1te you know, but not every bowler can pitch the ball exactly where he wants and sometimes it takes a little bit of patience to get it right and it might not even be until the 3rd or 4th spell or quite often that match that someone does.

You were castigating Broad barely after he had his first "loosener" over, for example.

A test is a 5 day event there is plenty of time for a bowler to get it right. I think you need to be a little bit more patient, for your own sake, otherwise you are going to get frustrated quickly with the game and players (such as Broad).

Having read through this thread before checking the score, I had assumed by the time I'd reached the final page that they were a good 70 or 80 for 1, imagine my surprise when I have a look at BBC Cricket to see that they're a mere 23/1 from just 13 overs!

Stop moaning, brightonmark.

Get the feeling Sri Lanka are going to miss Dilshan badly.

Sangakkara will get a century though, have one of those feelings!

Is Angalo Matthews or Lasith Malinga in the squad for this one anyone?

Malinga has definitely retired from test cricket.

Heard on TMS last game I think it's because he can barely bowl 10 overs a day because of injury (and not because of the lure of the T20 ruppee).
