Wilshire?

Im interested to find out why people would take him? If he was as good as people/media are hyping him he would be in the Arsenal team now? Rodwell is a better prospect/player in my view

Keepers

James Robbo Foster

Johnson rio Terry Upson Woodgate cole gibbs

Walcott Lennon Beckham Lampard Gerrard Barry Hargreaves/rodwell Cole Downing/Milner

Rooney Defoe Crouch Heskey

I would take Hargreaves if fit if not I would take Rodwell.

Not bad and not far away I reckon. Woodgate is never fit so yes,I would go with Upson, But suspect Lescott will oust Cahill before the end of the season.

Hargreaves is likely to oust Carrick who hasn't ever managed to produce consistant form at international level although he may "make up the numbers". Jagielka could be in e reckoning for a more defensive covering role - probably ahead of Owen in your list as we will load midfield ahead of forwards (no chance Owen will even be considered IMO). Add Ashley Young rather than team mate Agbonlahor (still not a natural goal scorer) so the final choice is Carlton Cole or Emile Heskey and I have a sneaky feeling that youth will prevail and Heskey's fears will be realised.

Woodgate played 44 games last year and is back into full training now.

Anyone who has said Micah Richards has obviously not seen him play recently. The bloke can't kick a ball straight.

James, Green, Robinson

Johnson, Cole, Terry, Ferdinand, Upson (becasue he's left footed), Lescott, Bridge, Luke Young (because we need another right back)

Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Milner, Walcott, Lennon, Hargreaves/Carrick, J Cole/Becks (dependent on fitness). Also Bullard maybe dependent on form and fitness.

Rooney, Defoe, Crouch, C Cole

IF everyone was fit!

David James, Ben Foster and Robert Green.

Glen Johnson, Micah Richards, Wayne Bridge, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Jonathan Woodgate, Mathew Upson.

Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, Owen Hargreaves, Joe Cole, Ashely Young, David Beckham.

Wayne Rooney, Emile Heskey, Jermaine Defoe.

IMHO no need for more strikers when you have Young and Walcott who at worst could play there.

What, the same Walcott whose brilliant hat-trick away to Croatia basically sealed England qualification?

He has absolutely NOTHING to prove, except his fitness.

Erm, I said "he's going to have a bit to do", nothing about "proving" anything. Your response confirms he's going to have a "bit to do"...

James, Green, Hart

Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Johnson, Brown, Upson, Lescott

Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Lennon, Beckham, Hargreaves (Carrick), Cole, Milner, Walcott

Rooney, Cole, Crouch, Defoe

No need to take second choice full time fullbacks if they aren't good enough (as Richards and Bridge aren't). Brown and Lescott can play centre back (Brown only if desperate!) and provide cover for the fullbacks.

It does make my squad a bit midfield heavy, but I think that's where we have the most options. Besides which, we now know that Milner can play left back!

I think Heskey and Cole provide a similar option, and personally I would take Cole. I've been impressed with him whenever I've seen him in an England shirt. Last night he was making some decent runs off the ball, certainly a lot better than Agbonlahor managed.

I don't think its 'midfield-heavy'. I think 4 strikers is okay if you've got Walcott in as well. Its all about picking adaptable players to cover multiple positions.

Barry - CM / LM / LB
Gerrard - CM / LM / CF
Walcott - CF / RM
Brown - CB / RB
Jagielka - CB / RB / CM / RM / GK!!

etc...

Because we need someone young to heap massive, unreasonable pressure on by declaring that he is going to win the World Cup on his own for us, so we have someone to blame when we get knocked out in the Quarter Finals of course.

If he played for Spurs you would be saying we should take him.

Anyone NOT putting Milner is wasting their time. He will definitely be on the plane to SA. Great work ethic, improving in leaps and bounds, can play a number of positions. Capello rates him highly.

Very few choosing Downing. Who's playing on the left these days?

Current pecking order I would say is Gerrard, then Milner. Joe Cole is to return shortly. And there's SWP. So best Downing can hope for is 4th choice realistically.
