England are truly awful. Lack pace, any sign of urgency (apart from hopeless long balls), skill, talent you could go on and on. Added to which we must have the worst defense of any supposedly top international team.

From a neutral point of view, I thought Switzerland were pretty good, played nice organised football, clearly had a tactic to shoot on sight, and if it wasn't for that dodgy #20 centre back probably would have won. England missed some good chances but it doesn't hide the fact that another team knocked the ball about for long periods.

The object of the game was to win and Bent didnt look like he would score even with an open goal. I suggested that before they brought on the other Villa clown Downing, had we had Crouch in the middle for the last 10-15 mins and provided long balls from the wings that he would win and either aim to the goal or knock down for Ashley Young. Bent would and didnt do either.
