Indeed. And it's long been clear that Locadia isn't his "let's shake things up a bit" option, he's more the "nothing left but a desperate roll of the die" bloke.

We don't do 'let's shake things up a bit' options.

Been a tough start for him new country, new league and teammates but just has not happened for him so far. Not sure he is used to being the bit part player but has not shown anything in his cameo appearances to force a change of approach from Hughton (compare this to Andone who grabbed his opportunity with both hands)

The recent interview suggests he does not have the stomach to hold out and fight for his place and my guess is he is getting his agent to work on a January move.

Does not make him a terrible player just not taken off here and if he stays will hope he turns the corner but not really pulling up trees here so far which is what you need to be doing if you want to start ahead of Murray.

If he is frightened of heading a ball, he should have done a 'Rodriguez' and punched it in - he may have got away with it if the officials were as crap as at the West Brom game on Friday. Worth considering next time?

Sometimes it just doesn't happen for someone at a particular workplace, and the harder they try, the worse it gets. If the linesman hadn't wrongly flagged him offside against West Ham, or some other break had gone his way, then who knows? But they didn't and there's very little sign that they will. Loan him out somewhere warm in January and see if he can get his confidence back.

And replace him with who?

Injuries and suspensions plus cup commitments could mean we really need him and are in a position to give him a run of games to find his form.

Are you advocating a £15m+ Jan purchase to replace this largely untried player?

The rumour site (yes I know) have all been suggesting, for a little while, that Newcastle, Wolves and one other who are forget, are keen to sing, Big Jurg.

That in itself would be quite amusing.
All those that have been queuing up to rubbish the fella, some before he even kicks a ball, can then have the double whammy of frenziedly writing the:-

'Well he couldn't do that for us' threads.

Largely untried? He’s been with us for almost a year and had plenty of opportunities.

When he's played against 4th division opposition he has scored.
Were he given the opportunity Andone got (due to injury and not tactics) I'm sure he would also have hit the back of the net, against a similar standard of opposition.

Playing alone up front at City and Liverpool, in a Chris Hughton side is not and never can be regarded as an opportunity to shine.

We needed someone to come off the bench late on, who is a clinical finisher and might just nick a goal for us. Perhaps someone who isn't yet ready to play regularly in the premier league, but has been scoring goals for fun at the next level down?

I don't think we'd need to spend £15m+ to replace him.

Yet Andone did nothing yesterday.
He never even got in a position to miss a sitter

He harried well. He really wasn't fed the ball much to do anything with - we seemed to think it was big man Murray still up front, so kept putting it to Andone in the air. He's quite a bit shorter, so whilst he went for every one, and valiantly tried, he didn't really have much chance of getting the ball and holding on to it. On the ground meanwhile, the conditions were not great, very slippery - which didn't help us get it through to him either. I thought he looked good, but just didn't get any chance to show it. He was superb in the warm up! (unlike knocky, whose shots in the warm up were carbon copies of the one he had in the first half that when high and wide).
