This excuse that he cant head a ball is wearing a bit thin. He might not have the power and conviction of direction as some of the heading legends but come on really? Football is all about taking your chances, whether that's on a Sunday morning in a pub team or 3pm on a Saturday afternoon in the premiership, Florin did earlier in the week but unfortunately Jurgen didn't / hasn't. Its that simple.

As Stat Brother said: Scapegoat needed, apply within.
Well I was at the game and to be honest he had plenty of time to make his mark on the game. In all honesty he wasn't noticeably bad when compared to Andone. With that said, he came on against a tiring defence and didn't improve us, and yes his miss really was poor. Had that fallen to Murray, Barnes, Vokes, Andone or any other striker on the pitch, we probably would have seen either a goal or the keeper saving it. He simply had to get it on target, he didn't.

He's NEVER going to get more than one or two chances a game. He's not in the Eredivisie now. He probably needs to go back to being a flat track bully at a noddy league. Do Rangers or Celtic need a striker? They'd absolute love him.

I'm not forgiving Locadia for that chance - it was a big miss. and obviously Murray has been v.clinical this season but the idea that "any other striker on the pitch" is putting away chance after chance is a bit fanciful. How many chances have Burnley failed to convert for Wood to score once in 16, Barnes twice in 14, and Vokes 3 in 15. ?

Probably not enough to be a prem sucess but he isnt as bad and most the bed wetters on here are saying he is , get a grip people.

Probably not as bad as the jerks still calling other people 'bed wetters' either.

I'm not saying those players are world class either. I'm saying the chance where Locadia failed to properly get his head over the ball was presentable was actually fairly routine. Other strikers mentioned would have done a better job, and I'm fairly sure their lack of goals come down to fewer chances created and lack of mobility and pace. But a colleague swings over a cross to an unmarked Barnes and that ball ends up on target at worst.

This isn't the place for posing questions, it's the place for presenting cold hard facts - something you actually specialise in.

How many gilt-edged chances, of the like Locadia spurned today, have those strikers missed this term? Please tell us.

It was a goal. It was actually a goal. In the pub I was watching it in, we all rose as one. As the ball came across we all saw he only had to connect and we were back in the game, maybe heading back South with a precious point.

But he ****ed it up royally.

How many goals did Gary Lineker score with his head? Locardia is clearly modelling himself on Lineker (or G-Lin, as he's known in the world of rap). Lineker had his first hit single in Holland in 1993, a year after his last game for England, entitled 'Turnip Bitch'. Locardia was just a nipper when this was released but it influenced him heavily. Give the boy some space and he'll deliver.

The thing is we all have an opinion on JL.
It's what CH decides that counts.
It's easy to deride a player who is not performing.
From memory it was Bongs time, then Knocky and then AJ............
He's an Albion player, who is part of squad that all act as one, wherever the blame lies.

Quite. Some of the top most teams set up without even one 'natural striker' and play with pace and a 'false number nine' (whatever that is - as in a fart is a false shit???).

Palace have a big target man. So last century.

I agree. Could our future set-up be being tested in the U23s?

The pairing of 6ft1.5” Gyökeres & 5ft7” (guess) Connolly is proving extremely effective. I believe it’s all about pace & movement as well as having an exceptional fox in the box.

Can you please stop with all this rationale thinking!
