How will they enforce it? Pretty sure it's been illegal to stream live content for a while now, but no websites seem to be shut down over it. Shame if the live streams do disappear for good though.

Good,

Streaming sites, whether live streaming or video stream reduce the amount of money the television industry takes in by way of advertising. We therefore end up with terrible programs that don't cost much to make.

Yeah, its like the people who claim that downloading music doesn't affect the music industry when it does. Fewer artists are now being signed up nowadays, well unique ones. Hence why the music scene will never go through a change like it has in the past ever again.

Why would people download TV programmes when they are available online for free the following day (sometimes the following hour)

Movies are making more box office money than ever.

The reason for low quality entertainment productions is down to the greed of the corporations - so the fact P2P downloading/streaming exists is a victory for the people and a loss for the corporations.

Who gives a f*** if it loses Sky money anyway, football would be a better place without them.

Without sky now though, most clubs would be bankrupt.

Most live streams are crap anyway, jump, stop start, plus you have to download a lot of cookies and toolbars...

No you don't, download adblocker and you won't see those 'download this toolbar' message, never download anything (except sopcast) to do with streaming, you probably have a fair amount of malware/viruses if you have actually downloaded them.

Not a single thing they can do about it.

Downloading torrents (films, music, games) is easier than ever (not that I would ever do such a thing). It is IMPOSSIBLE for the corporations to defeat P2P. Fact.

This

Even if they did manage to shut any down as one would close another would open, or they would simply move their servers.

This isn't the first time this has happened, MYP2P now Wiziwig got taken to court a few years ago and won the case.
Aseros, if you think that this is effecting the tv & music industry your wrong, high pricing and greed are the reason you end up with crap programmes that don't cost much.
It has more to do with following the American lead of charging sky high prices and giving em crap, it's been going on there for 30 years.

How? The stream is generally verbatim, meaning that you still have to watch the same adverts as if you were watching on a normal digibox anyway.

The figures aren't taken into account when calculating advertising revenue.

Without Wiziwig my Brighton and Hove Albion input will be reduced to this message board and the BBC.

The figures aren't taken into account when calculating advertising revenue.

You realise the figures aren't the amount of people watching the show, right? Certain people use boxes which are tracked by TV companies and then the stats from these boxes are extrapolated to give an idea of the overall audience a tv show pulled. If I watch a program on TV or on my laptop it makes not a jot of difference.
