I personally don't agree streams will always available. Encryption software and receiving equipment will catch up to a point where it will be simply impossible to stream a transmission illegally.

No it won't we are in a generation where the "bad guys" invest more money into breaking security than the good guys, the problem with streaming is under which legal jurisdiction does the offence occur and who prosecutes there are plenty of countries willing to turn a blind eye so streaming will be around for a while yet.

But streaming at the moment doesn't involve breaking any security. Neither does copying a CD... and the sort of streams we are talking about aren't making much if any money.

The technology will take over.

I don't agree, technology will always advance but so will the thieves/'bad guys'. Look at cars, they have immobilisers but people moved on to stealing keys from houses. Also there are hundreds of on-line communities where thousands of people dedicate themselves to ripping and cracking software/games. You will never eradicate piracy, for every clever guy who invents security locks, there are ten super clever guys willing to invest time and money to break it.
