TLO/WW can you take your tedious spat offline to the PM world. If not, can you avoid quoting each others ad inf. as those of us on PDAs have to scroll thru all the rubbish time after time.

Mods, perhaps we could have a MeMeMe forum for this tripe.

Very good news re. Elphick. I wish you good folks would stop over -reacting to every result or contract rumour. Truth his we have 3 points from 3 away games. Hardly armageddon. The Wilkins poll indicates the silent majority support for Deano.

Let's all get behind the team and the manager tomorrow!

Exactly, this is the most import thing, supporting the team tomorrow. A tough game seeing Bournemouth have improved of late and the fact anyone can beat anyone in this league.

Great news about Elphick being back but cannot understand why the effort was put into signing Martot, who has been the least effective of the loan signings and the easiest to replace. Probably the cheapest as he can go home every week and buy his duty frees or DK could drive to Spain on his way home, and drop him off, thus saving 2 tanks of petrol:lol:

Surely your post should also be in there too?

Keeping Martot until the end of the season seems sensible enough.

With O'Callaghan leaving we don't have HUGE amounts of options in midfield and Martot can operate on either wing or in the middle.

He offers more defensively than either Cox or Robinson and, while he may not beat players, he does get into the box and in decent positions.

Not a definite starter but by no means as bad as people on here are suggesting.

If we let him go who would we have in midfield? Robinson and Cox - both of who have hardly been consistently brilliant this season and Reid, Hammond and Fraser.

We need a squad and Martot is a decent squad player.

Oh, get over yourself, sweetheart. You're not so above it that you saw fit to join in yourself.

...is the point I was cack-handedly putting to WW.

We're going to win tomorrow - FACT.

Good news for Elphick.

I still think our best CB combination this season has been Butters and Elphick. Young players need the experience next to them. You can be an unbelievable athlete, but it takes time to build up the positional knowledge and the 'first 10 yards in your head' stuff. Lynch and El Abd are good players but they are inexperienced and need time to develop.

Martot must be doing something on the training ground day in day out which of course the vast majority of those on here don't see. I just hope to god he starts doing the business where it REALLY matters

And experience needs the young players next to them to cover their mistakes and prolong their careers...

Our best defensive partnership out of the players we have has to be Lynch and Elphick.

To put Elphick straight back in without any games is foolhardy. He should be in Butters position on the bench to bring opn if needed or 10 mins from the end if we are winning.

What has The firm of Wilkins, White & Chapman got against Guy Butters who everybody with eyesight can see is the man we are missing.

To quote Sir Norman on Saturday ' the defence is not playing as a unit ' why? Because GB is not there directing operations.

So what if he is not the best defender in League 1?

He is class on the ball, a good passer, quick, athletic and tall. He reads the game well and recovers quickly from any mistakes.

I think he has all the qualities to become a QUALITY central defender.

Football is all about opinions and mine is that he will not make acentral defender but could be a decent left back one day. He is not even the best in Div 1 at the moment in any position.

... and you're welcome to your opinions ... even when they are as wrong as this one. He's not a left back, he's stated it, the club have stated it and there are as yet undescovered tribes deep within the Amazon rainforest that know it .. granted he's not playing his best at the moment but that's unfortunately how it goes.

I actually agree with Richie. Even if he isn't the best defender in this division that doesn't mean he doesn't have the most ability and at his age he has massive potential.

Which Lynch have you been watching? Of the points you raise 3 are correct, he is quick, ideal for a full back, athletic, that helps playing in an athletic stadium, and tall which would help him win the ball against small wingers/midfield men, but it doesnt help him against tall central strikers as he very rarely wins a header that isnt a clear free header.

He is a good tackler and is able to go forward but I wouldn't say that he was class on the ball and his distribution is often quite wayward, as he doesnt get much distance on his clearances.
