I don't generally, and I didn't here. I was just merely commenting on the predictability of NSC's most miserable 'supporter'. He didn't even ask me to justify an opinion, because I never gave one in the first place.

Then when I did give an opinion, he called me a mug - which was nice.

Just because I don't have to justify an opinion, it doesn't mean I won't.

Well maybe you should then - instead of just dismissing my views. I called you a mug because you spectacularly disagree with my opinion but give no reason why. If you were to give a bit of reasoning behind your opinion then you MIGHT not seem such a mug. Certainly, it would make you come across as less of a pompous arse.

Much Love,

Great news about Tommy E, and just as well too if Lynch is out.

The fact that Tommy F is also doubtful for tomorrow, leaving approximately FOUR fit midfielders at the entire club, just shows how much we DO still need Martot, at least in the short term.*

*Unless of course you are completely confident that Wes Fogden offers adequate cover across the centre?

Admittedly, you won't change my mind. You're a mug if you think Martot is actually good.

And you're a mug if you think that:
a) Martot is significantly worse, based on his limited performances this season, than Cox or Robinson, who have both been desperately poor in recent matches. Martot might not have set the pitch alight but if you can't see that he has a decent work rate and is capable of scoring and creating goals then you deserve to watch the two young wingers turn in increasingly dissapointing performances week on week.
b) We need competition for places (for reasons I have clearly stated). Martot is not a definite start but he is easily capable of competing for a spot on the bench or in the first 11. We already have a small squad, as long as we're not paying him silly money (which I highly doubt) then he can't fail to be of some use.
c) Who do you think is lining up to sign for Albion? We'd be lucky if we found another 1 or 2 wingers who are willing to sign and are capable of being much better than what we have at the moment. At least with Martot in the squad we have some solid cover at the very least. I just don't understand this attitude that Brighton have an enormous pool of players all desperate to be given contracts - every transfer window people expect us to sign a host of fantastic players and almost every window we're suprised at how little actually happens - there's a good reason for that!

Oh, and great news about Elphick who is missed greatly at the moment. Not too bothered about Lynch either, he's been pretty poor recently and I'd be happy to see Butters back in the side (please?!).

See that is at least one way of looking at things...but to keep him until the end of the season just seems such a waste.

Cox, Reid, Hammond, Loft..i'd argue that Robinson has been played in midfield this season as well. Add to that a fit Fraser, the fact that Wilkins thinks El-abd can do a job in midfield (admittedly i don't), and the option of recalling Hart...it just seems uneccessary. Especially if we could get a GOOD centre midfielder in on loan with the free wages to replace O'callaghan.

Oh well

Elphick is a player that we need to keep. I won't mind seeing him move on if we get a couple of seasons out of him. But I will be upset if the club flogs him before he has played twenty games for the Albion. If he goes to Reading then I might consider suicide.

I think he's marginally worse - but i completely agree about the 'young wingers' being dissapointing and poor. However, I feel we should be looking to IMPROVE the squad with loan signings, as opposed to adding more anonymities.

I don't think there are superstars waiting to join us, but i'm sure we can do better than someone who's failed to impress in the 4 months he's had so far. Signing Martot because we're usually bad in the loan market seems a shockingly negative approach to things.

Martot? f***ing HELL. He's RUBBISH! What the HELL as he achieved so far? Approximately bugger all. Yet we're going to waste wages on turd like him when we've got Robinson, Cox, Reid AND Hart who can play in the position. We need a Savage replacement, and we need to sort out the DISGRACE in the middle of the park. Signing yet another anonymous midfielder is just silly. Wilkins = IDIOT

Well I can't imagine Hart ever playing for us again, so rule him out. Reid is coming back from a serious injury and these kind of knee injuries often have flare ups. So that leaves the two inconsitent pair of Cox & Robinson, so extra cover until the end of the season in my eyes is a good thing. I am not the greatest of Martot lovers but he'll do on the bench.

As for Savage and O'Callaghan I am sure if you have noticed this don't you think Wilkins has? If he had £1 - 2 million to spend we'd have a decent side, but we don't, so I disagree that Wilkins = Idiot.

My original point was about the fact that you are always more than happy to blast any player who you don't like in absolute terms. Your attitude that you don't like or trust Dean Wilkins, and must therefore be labelled an idiot, because he doesn't agree with your own team selections (like he is paid to do obviously), or play the way you want is... I'll think of the right word later. See previous threads for that one.

So to avoid being called a mug, I have to say WHY I 'spectacularly' disagree (I thought it was quite a benign disagreement actually) with you? That's not a nice way of debating. It's not good enough to voice an opinion, I have to say why, or be branded a name... Thanks.

And you call me pompous?

And even more depressing was the fact that it was so obvious that your misery was going to come flying in on this thread. I would like to have thought that you would break a habit and were at least going to give some kind of measured response, rather than an impetuous comprehensive destruction of a player's abilities and the manager's choices. Seemingly not.

My only opinion on the matter was the I was pleased Martot is returning. If you want to call me a mug because I haven't said why is your choice.

think he does a job gives a bit more competition and he is no way as bad as the great and good on here seem to think he is.

I'm happy enough with Martot staying.

Simple fact is that although he's not a world-class winger by any stretch of anyone's imagination, beggars cannot be choosers. OK, so he hasn't looked fantastic every time he's played (which of our players has this season?) but he's put in enough solid performances to suggest to me that we could do a lot worse than keeping him around.

There seems to be much sexual tension between Withdean Wanderer and The Large One. That is the only explanation for their continuous rows on this board.

Unnameable, The Large One can start an argument in an empty padded cell my friend. Trust me, if there is one thing you can be sure Al has a driven passion for, it's making sure he gets the last word. Oh.. and the Albion.

Sexual Tension mmmm more like :catfight:

To be honest TLO has nothing in the pompus and hypocrytical stakes compared to LI. Now there was someone worthy of arguing with.

TLO/WW can you take your tedious spat offline to the PM world. If not, can you avoid quoting each others ad inf. as those of us on PDAs have to scroll thru all the rubbish time after time.

Mods, perhaps we could have a MeMeMe forum for this tripe.

Very good news re. Elphick. I wish you good folks would stop over -reacting to every result or contract rumour. Truth his we have 3 points from 3 away games. Hardly armageddon. The Wilkins poll indicates the silent majority support for Deano.

Let's all get behind the team and the manager tomorrow!
