Yep, I will drive and/or cycle for when I next go. Public transport was OK getting there TBH, but not after the final whistle back to Brighton.

Wasn’t as bad as I expected.

No one got within 1m of me, I sat down but no one claimed the next seat. I didn’t think it was too bad considering, on the most part I saw all masks being kept on and Albion fans being respectful of the rules.

It didn’t help the first train after FT was a 15min wait, however there was nothing to stop any fans worried about the virus from waiting for the next one which would have been empty.

Boris Johnson has just said over 500,000 people have had the first vaccine shot. But that's taken 10 days, so 50,000 per day. With a population of 68 million , I make it 2720 days before everyone has had both doses. That's 7 45 years!!!

Except, of course, the capacity is being increased daily and there are widescale plans ahead.

It was much worse than I was expecting!

It must just have been the carriage I was in then as all the seats were taken, and people were standing in the aisle and crowding around the door! There was zero social distancing, albeit everyone was wearing a mask.

I made a dash after the final whistle, assuming they would be limiting the number of people per train and I needed to get back sharpish. I got to the platform and there were a few other people waiting, but by the time the train arrived the platform was pretty busy. There was no limiting the number of people allowed on the platform or the train at all; it was a free for all.

So if you are worried about the virus (either for yourself, or passing it on) I would definitely avoid the first train back next time...

I suspect games will be back behind closed doors fairly soon. I think they will try and keep professional football going but if infection rates amongst players increase it might become unworkable, plus the PFA will get involved.

Yeah agreed - bit of a nightmare if anyone was cautious / worried. Definitely think about waiting out for the next train. I moved toward the bridge at the back so it wasn't as bad back there.

This is an area that surely needs looking at....personally I always travel by car..but it’s not about me..and I could understand people reservations over travelling by train if this is the general experience
