I'm having a cash crisis at the moment (the moment meaning the last 2 years) and have decided to list and hopefully sell anything in my house that isn't stuck down or needed  Mostly clothes, a few handbags and jewels etc... Some clothes Arthur was given and never wore...

Just interested like on how many of you use ebay and what you mainly use it for? Buying? Selling?

Would you buy clothes on there? Used or new?

I'm not particularly convonved ebay is the bargain it used to be - but I haven't any other way of getting a few pennies at the moment...

I use Ebay and Amazon to buy and sell stuff.

The only advice I'd give is that you insist on buyers using paypal, which you can do at listings stage.

if you haven't got a paypal account yourself, then it's worth registering.

If you need any advice etc, then drop me a PM. Good luck:thumbsup:

It depends on what your selling and what time of year it is. I find from past experience that people tend to buy more in the winter when the weather is crap and people just want to stay inside on their PC's...

I buy quite a lot on there and on the whole save a lot of money, strangely razor blades are cheaper there.

If this is any help.

I listed last week 6 Items of clothing that my daughter had grown out of. Three sold one Gap rain jacket, next and a pumpkin patch summer dress.

I charged £2 for delivery and packaging.
I made about £20 after all charges taken in account for posting and listing of the six items.

The cost of these three items new would have been about £55

This was much better return then when I tried to sell via a car boot sell. As people won't pay more the £1 for anything even though they are in good condition and cost you more them 20 times that.

It was the first time I tried to use ebay for this type of selling so was quite chuffed.

I think for clothing you have to sell the items that people are looking for at the right time. The most money I got was for the Gap rain coat, no wonder with the sort of weather we are having.

Good luck to you.

I have sold loads of my sons clothes on ebay. If you have designer label kids stuff it sells really well. I made about £100 in the last two weeks on my sons clothes most of them were in practically new condition as he grows out of them before they are worn out.

Very much depends what they are.

I got good money for a few old concert T-Shirts that I'd worn to death.

It's also exciting when you find something that you think is worthless that goes ballistic.

I've just sold an old toy car that I never really played with - for over £100!! :smokin:

Ebay rocks (some times)!

Not necessarily.

I use ebay to buy clothes for the children and don't mind them not being in pristine condition when all my kids are going to do is climb a tree and roll in mud wearing them. As long as the seller is honest and says they are faded, stained, it doesn;t stop me buying play clothes.

If you sell Arthur's clothes, I have found they tend to sell better in larger lots, rather than one t-shirt here and there, a pile of three outfits all together or pairs of jeans (same/similar sizes) tends to do better than single pairs.

Probably cos 99% of them are fakes. Damn good fakes tho cos you cant tell the difference til you've been using them for a few days:nono:
