Sold my sons IPOD Nano for a rather high price of £55 mind you a year old and hardly used.

Requested payment by paypal only and have heard nothing - sent an invoice and two messages.

Buyer has only ever purchased one other thing so planning to go to dispute once a week old which is next Tuesday as I don't think he/she want to actually buy it.

What happens in a dispute do you end up getting a free listing if the item is won but not purchased ?

Not 100% sure but you should be able to offer to the next bidder or re-list it.

That's good as the next bidder was £54, says I can't go to dispute till a week after the sale.

Have you tried contacting them on their phone, you just need to request their contact details from ebay and ring them. I have had occasions, especially when selling to new users, where this action sorted things out as they were not sure what they were doing, especially a new user to ebay and paypal

There could be all sorts of reasons, if its not yet a week thats barely any time at all. I once won an auction for an American football jersey, but due to a family death had to head over to Ireland (where I have no internet access) and the whole thing took a back seat. When I next logged on ebay I had all sorts of abusive messages and bad feedback...

I noticed today that they are going to be bringing in a scoreing system for postage costs, if the byers think your chargeing too much they with give you a low score and people with bad scores listed items will be harder to find.

With all the fees they have already it does seem too much hassel to sell stuff on there now.

i have to disagree, i think ebay is brilliant.... my dad has recently gone into a care home and i have sold lots of items of his on ebay, furniture etc which was going to cost us a fortune to dispose of.... ones mans rubbish is another mans must have....
i also buy:) lots of things, for far less than you would pay in the shops.... so far i have not been dissapointed.

I made quite a bit buy buying cheap, probably fake polo shirts in bulk and selling them individually but then one person claimed they hadn't received something and I ended up giving a refund so that put me off a bit.
I also got £50 for my Ipod Mini which was about 3 years old so was very happy about that.

Watchdog was about problems with people who didn't receive their items or there were problem with the goods, but were only allowed refunds if they left good feedback.

eBay seemed to be doing something about it

A lot of sellers wait for you to give feedback before giving you any. I once got negative feedback after someone didn't send me something and I left him bad feedback.

eBay's big weakness right there-a seller is at fault, jerks you around or rips you off, you leave justifiable negative feedback and the vendor retaliates for revenge.

Add to that their atrocious customer support and it's not the place it used to be or could be.

I recently tried to buy my son a bed for £365 off ebay paid by paypal, then never received the bed and stopped replying so I raised a dispute with paypal and ebay and all I got back was £150 so the bloke still has £215 of my money and I have still not received any contact. Turns out the same guy did the same thing with about 10 or 15 people at the same time after having loads of positive feedback over the previous year. Basically ebay and paypal have washed their hands of it and I am out of pocket by £215 and there is very little I can do about it. It is disgusting that people using a website to buy stuff can be ripped off so easily by these people with little or no comeback.
