Rely on pay pal at your peril if things go wrong or you get a con artist at the other end.I have been shafted twice by pay pal with the 2 desputes i have had and lost both times when it was obvious i was in the right.Out of pocket both times.

Worthing
I recently tried to buy my son a bed for £365 off ebay paid by paypal, then never received the bed and stopped replying so I raised a dispute with paypal and ebay and all I got back was £150 so the bloke still has £215 of my money and I have still not received any contact. Turns out the same guy did the same thing with about 10 or 15 people at the same time after having loads of positive feedback over the previous year. Basically ebay and paypal have washed their hands of it and I am out of pocket by £215 and there is very little I can do about it. It is disgusting that people using a website to buy stuff can be ripped off so easily by these people with little or no comeback.

i have to disagree, i think ebay is brilliant.... my dad has recently gone into a care home and i have sold lots of items of his on ebay, furniture etc which was going to cost us a fortune to dispose of.... ones mans rubbish is another mans must have....
i also buy:) lots of things, for far less than you would pay in the shops.... so far i have not been dissapointed.

I also think it is good. My husband loves Yorkshire and reading about all the villages. I have got some terriffic books that I would never have been able to get otherwise and none of them were particularly expensive. Have to say though that I have never paid dear for anything on ebay but there again have never had any problems with any of the sellers. Maybe I have just been lucky.

Ebay saved us when we had to leave UK PDQ and had to empty our house. Of course as I was selling I was buying lots of books and little things I wanted to take with me and over that time only got screwed once on a Desperate Wives DVD from Thailand. For the hit/miss ratio think it's a great idea but would never spend mroe than about £50 in one go unless I coudl guarantee.

Right through the dispute console the buyer has now advised he does not want the item so I have responded he won it in an auction therefore should buy it and if he does not I will give him negative feedback.

from my use with bgay, i have to say that bgay's and paypal's customer service is one of the worst i have dealt with,
