Bidder 1 £120.00 13-Nov-07 12:32:01 GMT

Starting Price £100.00 03-Nov-07 15:30:31 GMT

Now, obviously the bloke who put a bid of £600started this off, but whoever finally bid is taking the piss.

i have told her only to mail the bloke, delete her paypal credit card details off the site.....anything else she can do?

I'd send them an invoice and see what happens, eBay is contract binding

the trouble is I am concerned that whoever it is will ask for bank details to pay into her account........if its a scam then her account could be emptied!!

the problem is the phone is worth £ 400 absolute maximum.

I sell stuff on eBay all the time for over inflated prices, send them an invoice, if anything it will get their account shut down if they refuse to pay or pretend to have had their account tampered with..

Its a win win situation

Could be people selling the same product bumping the price up of your daughters phone in order to disuade people from bidding for it and bididng on their item instead.
Either that or they are Nigerian scammers.

www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk forums are a good place to go for ebay advice - site isn't working at the moment though.

Not sure of the rules but isn't she able to offer it to the next highest, or in this case 7th highest bidder which seems a genuine offer.

im sure you can pay into a bank account through paypal rather than need to send your bank details over. its free to send money aswell so just gt them to pay that way,

as said before if they wont pay offer it to the next highest bidder and log negative feedback to them

it looks as though its a scam....she received an email back from the bidder saying he wanted to send the payment and she should click on a link ...the link was to another persons ebay type page, which one of our friends recons is a complete sham.

FUCKERS

she has gone back to the second chance screen and contacted the person who bid sensibly and is seeing if they want it at the £140.....

she also deleted paypal account from her ebay just in case.

Happened to me before - sold my old nokia and it went for £1100 never heard a peep out of the winning bidder after I sent him/her an invoice. What you do is follow these rules:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/bidders_contact.html

Make sure you set up a paypal account and then relist the item - ebay will give you a relisting credit.

Paypal is the safest way to trade although its a rip off!!

Never send anyone your bank account details. Never. Do not even state that you will in your listing.
