If you're lucky, the last proper bidder will pay up and take the item without you having to re-list it.

This happened to The Grub a while back and she got a decent price still and the spammer's account was closed down by Ebay.

As someone else said, it's win win in the end, as you get to see the highest bid of the highest legitimate bidder, rather than just what would have won the auction.

The bloke is clearly a big spender. He's spent 43,702.79 is English quids and 8,785.96 in Yankee dollars. And that's all today.

You can usually avoid this kind of trouble by only accepting bids from UK users (with positive feedback).

Which is possibly the most annoying thing ever as an English-speaking, Sterling-understanding buyer in a country that has extremely good postal links to the UK... (Ireland or the IOM)
