None of us know if Dunk is having a temporary dip in form while working his way back to fitness, or if time has caught up with his legs.
It’s the latter sadly.

Dunky is still our best defender but like most of the team he is struggling for form under the current coach. You don’t go from the Euros squad to cart horse in 6 months. Definitely still a great player, just playing under the wrong coach (IMO).

Disappointed that he perfectly identified the major flaw in our play during the immediate post-match interview but seemingly did nothing to address it with team mates during the game. Or if he did, his words had zero impact.

Can't answer that because Igor was dropped, hasn't played, so nothing to compare with. If we'd have won our last 2 games with Igor playing instead of Dunk, would that mean Igor is better? Of course like nearly everything on this board, every opinion is predominantly based on hindsight......

he’s very obviously not the player he was but he’s still miles better than igor. fact is the club really dropped the ball not investing in a new centre back in the summer

I think you may be one of the very, very few Brighton fans who thought his form last season justified a Euro's call up. He, like a lot our team, were a total shambles post Christmas 2023 and he shouldn't have been anywhere near that squad.

In actuality, he had a poor 5 months under RDZ, no rest over the summer because of the Euros, a decent start to the season and an unfortunate injury. What we may be seeing now is all of the above catching up on him somewhat

They did try. Can’t help if a club doesn’t want to sell. No point in just signing any centre back if they aren’t an improvement.

I said near the start of the season when we were in great form that Lewis Dunk's face looked as if he was finding things extremely stressful.
I also think in his post match interview last night he was didn't sound as if he himself was convinced he knows how to turn around our current dodgy form.
I really like Lewis, a great servant to the club. But clearly something is not right with him at the moment

Way past his sell by date.

Agreement to joining the coaching staff or find another club.
