Absolute donkey performance today, QPR made a fool out of him, how he single handedly let them score that first goal i'll never know, crap.

I completly agree, the last this season and last season he has been crap. I thought El-Abd and Hishelwood were playing alright earlier in the season so why is watson taking there place.

Trigger - you have campaigned long and hard to get rid of Watson, I have never rated him. He survived our Championship seasons because he was never put under pressure. Teams rarely played more than a single forward against us, let alone a wide player to attack Watson. These last two seasons Watson has been put under pressure which has highlighted his lack of tackling, marking, heading or running ability. He used to be good at free kicks, but now rarely clears the defensive wall.

Mediocre wide players have a field day against him

Watson was complete and utter pants today.

Time for a re-think very quickly.

Absolute pile of horse shit today - Watson.

I do, too, Turkey, and in my view he should replace Watson from now until the end of the season. Watson was a complete and utter disgrace today. No passsion, no commitment, no skill, no effort............and no bloody good. Based on today's performance, he'd be lucky to get a place in a Conference side let alone Div 2.

If McGhee knows anything about the beautiful game, he'll drop Watto with immediate effect....

Watson can't defend against decent sides, he looked terrified when QPR ran at him.

But...he's very effective going forward. He links up well with OGH and he's still the best crosser of the ball. I onder if it's worth experimenting with a sweeper so that we could cover his defensive inadequacies while retaing his crossing/attacking abilities.

I'm much more worried about Mayo. He gives the ball away so often that the defence is being put under pressure unnecessarily.

I agree with trying to play 5-3-2 at the moment. With our injuries in midfield, it would seem worth trying Mayo as an extra centre back, Harding at wingback and then whatever we have left as the 2 in midfield. We are shipping soft goals at the moment and 5-3-2 saw us grind out results in division one.

El Abd makes too many schoolboy mistakes!
Hinshelwood at right back

But, unlike Watto, at least he has the excuse of having only just left school.

Reminded me of when Oatway scored that goal at home to Blackpool because the defenders just kept backing off.

We have too many poor players. McGhee needs to do an Adams and clear out half the teram and build a team for next year. Mayo. Oatway, Watson, and some others are not good enough.

El Abd should play right back or centre midfield next game.

either el abd or hinsh should play, but under no circumstances should watson.

is he one of the players who's contract is up in the summer, i hope so

Like Mayo and Oatway he has about another 2 years to run on his contract. One of the players that Knight gave new contracts to in the summer of 2002, as reward for getting the club to Division 1.

why can we no longer defend?
I think we are ok with people coming down the middle at us but when we are attacked down the wings Mayo and especially Watson simply can not cope, the full back positions really are our downfall this season, El'Abd must come in for Watson next game and if this does not happen then McGhee really is clueless, i'd also be tempted to give Harding a go at left back.
