Yes. My thoughts , prob a bit dramatic were that if I was there and drones were buzzing around with no explanation, army snipers everywhere I’d get me and my family out of there. Thousands of people being deliberately delayed so they all build up and gather in one building? Sitting ducks. I’d be as far from Gatwick Airport as quickly as possible.

Hadn’t thought of it that way, sincerely hope not. As a disruptive technique, it’s pretty clever though......fly a drone nearby, set off panic........land drone, recharge battery, just as they’re about to reopen the runway, relaunch drone. Rinse and repeat.......

Could be multiple drones being launched from virtually anywhere within a fair distance, so very difficult to track.

Some group will claim responsibility soon.....perhaps with some demands.

Just watching the news and apparently it was last spotted at midday. Is that right, if so why is it still shut?

How long before the Mail accuses Jeremy Corbyn of flying the drone.

“I’ll give that ‘Stupid woman’ something to really get upset about “ he was seen to mouth, under his breath.

I saw that too, last spotted at mid-day yet airport shut until tomorrow ? Also no news agency has reported videos or photos of it?

Wonder how long the media can go with the 'bored teenager' story on this one. Some good points on here and ones I have read elsewhere pointing out that this was high level tech and well organised (for example knowing how to avoid having the transmitter signal traced).

Whew. What a day. One early Gatwick cancelled flight. Then I purchased a teatime flight to LHR which was late. Spent ages circling over London before the pilot decided it might be an idea to land. Then tube trains were shit. But, now on the train to Brighton 10 hours late. Given some stories I think I got off lightly.

Good luck to all other travellers.
