Worst moment was the cable cars up to the top of the mountain at the back of Funchal, the first one was quite low and ok but the second one went out across a huge fudging chasm.... I genuinely could not look and had a panic attack. I had to close my eyes and just focus on breathing..... got a taxi back down ! Would love to go back and walk the levadas,

You should have taken a photo as nobody else appears to have been able to do so. Could have made a few quid!

Watching the news coverage. People lying on the floor, wailing and crying. Sleeping on the floor and generally moaning at the camera. I get that it’s a huge disappointment but just go home or to a hotel. There’s nothing you can do. Deal with what is in front of you not what you were hoping for.
