Not this season, But went a couple of times a few seasons ago with a Lewes fan when Brighton were away.

Found it really boring as i had little interest in who won or lost, and won't go back.

Lewes are about to hit their limit in terms of being able to progess any further up the leagues, as the conference is as far as their ground will ever take them, (and they had to spend loads to get it to that standard) - a shame that yet another Sussex club is being prevented from reaching it's full potential due to poor facilities.

Hardly. For a town of around 30,000 people to be where they are is pretty much their 'potential'.

They're in their highest ever position and their average crowd is 600/700.

Population of Lewes is less than 20k.

Don't live in a one eyed world - spread yourselves out a bit. I did the Lewes thing recently and really enjoyed myself. I'd forgotten how much fun you can have in a football ground, sing, have a beer, and watch a good team. Gary Hart playing for oppo and looking poor. That says a lot.

I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I'd rather pick interestingly-coloured items of felt out of my capacious bellybutton on a Saturday afternoon than go and watch Sussex non-league shite. That's because I'm a Brighton fan.
Dont honestly think the gap is that different now.
Cox played for Eastbourne Borough 4 half a season Gary Hart was at Havant and didnt look any different than any of the others on show.
Eastbournes 6-0 spanking of Basingstoke last saturday would have been hard to copy by this Albion outfit, plus Havant at Liverpool, would the Albion have scored 2 goals by halftime?
Gillinghams new manager Stimson has bought 4 or 5 players that were in the Conference South last year and are playing in their 1st team.
Been a Brighton fan for 30 years but Lewes and Boro are playing a lot better football than their league status at the moment and are worth a look for £9.50 a match

The only Albion game i have missed and have gone to lewes was Torquay in the cup this year, but that was more down to the fact of money and needed to save some cash just before christmas.

Have been to the Grays Fa Cup replay and the Newport game which was on a sunday.

Am missing Carlisle away in March though and doing the Bath v Lewes game instead. :badfan:

Would you have the same opinion of "Sussex non-league shite" if we'd been relegated from the Football League a decade ago?

I went to that Boro v Basingstoke game and believe me on that evidence there's definitely a difference. Basingstoke were bloody rubbish. They're 5th in conf south (i think) and if that's the standard .....

Eastbourne were decent enough but difficult to say how good considering the opposition. There was only about 800 there.

However, a great day out though. I'd forgotten the fun of terracing.

Went to Lewes today and hold my hands up that I got it wrong. As Mickey said, keep the faith! Will be back for the next home game.even worse, they ran out of Harveys before half time. Crowd was 799.

If Lewes are at home and Albion away at somewhere inaccessible then yes, I'll go down the Pan. The atmosphere is reliably good and it's our local non-league team.

The most curious thing..
If you want to watch a lower standard league then fine.... You might even be good enough to play for them. You might even want to watch/play for http://www.hassocksfc.com/ if you want.

If you want to watch a reasonably good standard of professional football (albeit not quite premiershite quality yet), as opposed to grossed up pub teams, then currently BHA remains your only local choice. It might not be very pretty but it's still better than all the alternatives.

In response to the "what would you have done if BHA had gone down to non-league 11(?) years ago" - I don't know the answer to that. I would probably still be looking for BHA results wherever they were out of misplaced loyalty and nostalgia (or supporting Chester City who also wear blue and white stripes)
