They guy with the sparkling wine was owned by Debra, hilarious

Did she f*** 'own him'. She was a twat for the whole show - trying too hard to be a bitch for TV. If she'd actually TRIED to understand the offer, she would have seen it was agreat opportunity. The deal Duncan struck with the guy was that he invests £60k. In a year's time he gets the £60k back AND he owns 20% of the business. Well done Debra.

I just thought Kirsty was 100% genuine and remarkably business savvy for someone who's only ever worked in a bar.

This. Very impressive young woman.

And, bringing the subject back to NSC levels - I would.

This, also.

Think people need to realise this is reasonable far removed from the real world of Business Angels and Investment, it's another reality show dressed up in this investment world. I bet hardly any of the deals actually end up as agreed on the show due to Due Diligence, Rights, Exits Startegies etc etc, still good goggle box stuff and bloody funny at times.

same tired old formula though - one deal about 20 minutes into the show and one at the end. It makes it predictable and boring.

They have actually done at least 'what happened next' type show, where they explained the deals that didn't happen, due to some of the reasons you quote, and followed up on some of the entrepreneurs now. They don't try and pretend it will all be rosy after the few minutes we see on air.

They have also done shows relating to ones that got turned down and that went on to make a fortune.

Just far enough away from LDC
The point about the vineyard is that Duncan with his hotel experience quickly saw that not only will he get his money back v fast and get a stake in the location but he will also be able to look to add leisure breaks and fine dining to the portfolio. Vanity production (like Vanity publishing) doesn't always work but a solid leisure side aligned for minimal risk starts to look a lot better.

I couldn't believe though that only Duncan saw the maths and that the presenter couldn't see Debra munter's point behind her question. You have to be able to answer questions in a way the asker will understand - irrespective of how dim they're being or how daft the question is.

Indeed as gtawick airport the other week with literally dozens of trunkies around the place would seem to testify. There were 10 on our 737 alone.

The presenter displayed terrible nerves from the outset. I think he'd just reached the point where his brain just wasn't processing correctly and in the face of Dragonetta's ridiculous aggression he just wasn't able to rationalise.

This.

I've watched it since the first show of the first series, but it's a tried format now.

At the very least, they need to change the Dragons who are way too up themselves.

we've all been there - usually after about 10 pints when someone asks you why you stopped off for the kebab on the way home

Absolutely, we concur, it's just showing the bits that make good telly and as it's a telly show it makes perfect sense to do so.

I had a job watching last night because all I could see was Paul Whitehouse doing the Dragons, especially Debra Meaden.

Yes and no.

Bannatyne is a completely different character to the one he presented in earlier shows. He often has a smile on his face now and comes across as very warm and likeable. I don't remember thinking that in the past.

Also I was, indeed am, hoping to see some sparks between Duncan and James after the very public spat they had over non dom taxes before they started filming this series.

Always good viewing , unless yuo end up watching the same episode over and over on Dave but a new series is all good. That traffic sign light guy was weird, and a shite idea, most peole get by just fine and if you are an ignorant driver you not gonna pay attention to his unfathomable light system, blue and red and green lights changing colours and moving up and down in no discernable system? Just odd.

Frozen pudding woman was good, glad she got a deal.

That pic someone posted of deborah Meaden reminded me of a question on Shooting Stars the other night;

"True or false? Nobody has ever slept with Deborah Meaden" Haha!

Agree that it makes it all too predictable in that sense. However it's still good viewing seeing the crap ideas even though you know they're not going to get an offer.

Does she ever fork out any cash? I've not watched that many episodes of DD, but I can barely remember her making a deal with anyone.

No wonder she's so rich.
