No i think he's a player of real quality BETTER then Joe Cole and Stewart Downing just don't see why he isn't getting a run in the England team, had a stormer at the Withdean a few years back

Tottenham already have Gareth Bale, who although he has not exactly shone this season (he's still very young), is a quality player with more years than Downing will have in him. Tottenham need cutting edge creativity and goal scorers.

And I imagine they would be buying Downing for exactly the reasons you state above.
