Brighton factually.....
My dear Swansman, if Russia does ever attack Sweden, Boris has promised to come to the rescue.....

good luck with that promise...

:lolol:

"This is an agreement that enshrines the values that both Sweden and the UK hold."

I suggest me and you put our past disagreements and mutual hatred of each other behind us.
For the love of Potter we are now brothers.

This NATO expansion and Russia's aggression in Ukraine is all a bit chicken and egg really isn't it.

Still, most people still believe that old chestnut that NATO is merely a 'defensive alliance'.

Indeed. And no one is suggesting we vote for applying or not... silly.

But the Wallenberg family went out on pretty much day one and said that it would be economically wise to join. And they are the ones who rule this country and own our weapon industry.

If that’s the reason it’s odd that it never occurred to them before…

It is. NATO has never made a pre-emptive strike.

My objection is Johnson has made this decision without Parliament. He is acting like dictator without accountability.
Don’t get me wrong, if Sweden joins NATO then we automatically protect members, but if Russia invades or commits an act of hostility, now we are bound to protect them.

That is not true. The UK has made a political declaration not an international treaty.

NATO were not involved in Libya. Don’t confuse American or British action with NATO.

Quite, British and American Imperialism using NATO as a cloak.

Also, are you telling me French air strikes on Libyan tanks didn't happen?

I used to be good friends with Peder and a couple of his spouses, back when he was domiciled in Sussex.

I’ve an amusing story about Victoria and Madeleine Gustaf when they were staying with Peder and Helena one summer. ;)

*Bernadotte. Gustaf is not the surname, it is just the go-to name for our kings.

Tell me the gossip!

Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
As part of the island of red and green that lights up the southern political map I believe Portslade nominally opted out of NATO a few years ago. I'll have to back up Swansman by upping my vodka consumption, taking up smoking again and being nice to Graham.
