He wanted to though.

But the point is. He had a good job with us and at one time it would have taken a big offer for him to walk. Once out of work then different jobs become attractive propositions. I know that he wanted to go to Reading not long before he finally went but he wouldn't have been interested 6 months previous to that.

from the Guardian's live football blog thing:

"Goal! West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Crystal Palace (Berahino)

Oh Palace. It was nice having you in the Premier League. It really was. See you soon, right? We'll call. Promise."

Pedants would point out, that no he didn't. He didn't go to Wolves, or to Reading. I agree he's a bit of a dick though.

Ok I'm in, playing the pedant game, he joined the first club that showed any interest after he left, is that ok? Does that satisfy the NSC splitting hairs brigade? The fact is, he's a dick, his club are losing and they are down to 9 men and I think its very funny.

Out of work manager joins a Premier League club when offered the job. What a shock.

Sad that some on here seem to despise one of the best managers we've ever had.

As I pointed out earlier when Bruno was knocked out, more intent on laughing at Poyet, than concern about our player.

"you want your big players Greer and Upson, Crofts and ....... " clearly Virgo couldn't think of another one.

Worried about Paynter coming on - he was pants for us, but....
