It’s staggering how much complacency there still is about how “strong” US democracy is…in a two-party state, only one party needs to die for democracy to end.

Yep, the parallels with Hitler are clear. Hitler tried a coup in (I think) 1924. It failed and he was jailed for a brief time. Then won electorally in 1930s and proceeded to dismantle democracy. So far, so Trump. The Reichstag fire was the final nail...

Ukraine isn’t as dependent on US aid as Trump and Putin are making out.
