I’m angry about quite a few things right now from the budget to the fact that we are, yet again, not going to win the EPL by 10 points. But Trump’s attitude to Gaza, Ukraine, Canada, Greenland, tariffs etc is genuinely shocking and very serious.

The USA is out to destroy any hope of peace, economic harmony, consideration for refugees and empathy for the poorest in the world - all to solely serve the interests of the USA.

I have never thought like this before but we must somehow stand up to this global aggressor. How, I honestly don’t know but maybe a citizen movement to boycott everything american would be a start?

No idea how one would get that off the ground though

The whole best person for the job thing continues to go well.

The Putin fan was confirmed in charge of defence yesterday and the bloke who thinks HIV is caused by poppers got the health top job today.

Apologies if previously posted - but probably worth posting several times! Every American should be made to watch it (although half the thickos will probably think it's fake news or propaganda). Very worrying stuff.

:( :( :( :( :(

That was a great watch. The part when he was talking about pre revolution America and the concept that the King of England was an agent of God and appointed by God to to rule, its exactly the view that Trump has of himself and has even said as much. That's how retrograde his mindset is. He'll be burning witches next.

Any child who has a parent who names them 'X' is clearly at a disadvantage from the get go. Any parent who names their child 'X' is clearly unhinged.

That said, one could argue the second thing he said to Trump wasn't pretty reflective.

One small step - and people have started already - would be to ramp up the 'Musk is the real president' shtick. Trump's who wouldn't cope with it and he fallout would be huge!

Not as much as Spence, apparently! :)
A quick glance at his history shows that in @spence last 60 interactions with Trump threads, 10 have been non detailed or analytical comments and the other 50 were laughing emojis.

So, yeah, he clearly has all the knowledge.

I suspect he may be due for a break soon...

Trump is denigrating Canada to one state, by calling Prime Minister Trudeau, Governor Trudeau. Not one journalist picked him up on it.
He is also insisting that Canada can’t defend itself.

I think Canada should annexe Alaska to show the USA how Ukraine feels. (Said very slightly tongue in cheek).

Short extract:
This was Ruth Ben-Ghiat on Tuesday. She’s a historian of fascism and authoritarianism at New York University and she said this even before some of this week’s most extreme events had taken place. (A transcript of the rest of her words here.)

It is a coup.

It's very difficult to stop when the sitting president is on the side of those conducting it.

Would it be good or bad for the US if they assassinated those conducting the coup?

its got to be said: if the elected President is doing stuff they said they'd do, with elected legislature cheering on, it really isn't a coup. it's quite silly. and what is the aim of this language, for opponents of Trump to rise up and have a counter-coup?

They're not doing what they said they'd do. They did not say they'd give Musk access to everyone's personal data, they did not say they'd try and remove the judiciary in order to give themselves total control with no checks or balances.
Not forgetting taking control of Canada, Greenland and Panama, or making Gaza a riviera. None of that was in the MAGA manifesto either.

Exactly..like Alan Sugar going rogue at Westminster.

Clearly Musk didn’t give Trump a quarter of a billion dollars cos he’s really bothered about govt inefficiency….he’s obsessed with deregulation and he n Trump care about money, power and revenge..now Musk has access to feck knows what information on who knows how many people and companies..very wrong n very scary.

Who voted for Elon Musk? Serious question.

he was right next to Trump in the campaign, promoting DOGE for months. he was part of "the ticket". the USian system is they elect a President who then fills their government with appointees. no one in their cabinet is elected. we may not like what it looks like or object to some of the outcomes, it's part of their process.
