The Fatherland
It's an article by Robert Reich, an American lawyer who worked in the administrations of 4 former presidents, both Republican and Democrat.
What exactly would he know

Did you not read this but, in the article you linked to…?

While it has long been known the new US administration would be less sympathetic to Ukraine than its predecessor, the words from Trump and his Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth will have only pleased Moscow.

Zelensky has repeatedly argued there "can be no talks on Ukraine without Ukraine" - but the Trump-Putin phone call proved otherwise.

isnt that how you broker a deal, talk to both sides and find something both sides can agree too ?

Otherwise this shit will continue forever, there will be only one winner if a deal cannot be struck.

I for one will be delighted if the US can broker a deal of sorts and stop the killing.

You can be sure they would never have peace or even the chance of peace over there if the administration had not changed

Doesn't sound like Trump thinks Ukraine should have a say in it. Apparently, they have to make peace after their bad decision to enter a war with Russia.

Am I reading different news to you. When did Trump sell Ukraine to Russia? https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c04n622gzx7o
Maybe not to that extent, but it's overly clear which 'side' Trump and co are backing. Him and Putin have had a chat and then told Zelensky what's going to happen. And what ISN'T going to happen, is that Ukraine goes back to how it was before this latest invasion, let alone before the previous one.

You asked what the right move with Ukraine was and I would say that Russia should pull out. They invaded, they don't belong there and they shouldn't be there. They only are because of Putin's ego and thirst for empire-building. Clearly the US isn't going to be able to do that alone – nor should it, IMO – and I'm not sure what the answer is. However, what Trump and co are proposing gives Putin the opportunity to pull the same stunt in another country that he fancies taking over. And another, etc, etc.

Also, it's not hard to see where Trump's eagerness to make Canada, Greenland and fack knows where else a part of the US has come from.

"That was not a good war to go into."

Yeah, what on EARTH were they thinking provoking some Russian nutjob to invading even more of their country, killing their people and destroying the land? Stupid Ukrainian fackers...

And Ukraine will simply say f*** you and the horse you rode in on. Trump will then realise he will actually have to do something and decide it’s too difficult and go and play golf.

no one will take someone who thinks people from Gaza should be evicted, Canada becoming the 51st state, US invading Panama and Greenland seriously. None of the above will happen, neither will he broker a peace deal in Ukraine.

"It's an interesting question" - came across as though it's the first time he's actually considered it.

As for it not being a good war for Ukraine to go into - that's an astonishing this to say really.

Standard Trump. To he honest, nothing he has said or done in this presidency has surprised me, because of what happened last time. He's way more interested in having the title than doing the work – with the added benefit this time around that it keeps him out of jail.

So Trump is happy to allow Putin to keep all the land that Russia currently occupies in Ukraine.

Is this history repeating itself with the Sudetenland in 1938, and Putin will be taking this appeasement from Trump as the green light to invade other former USSR states.

Does he know what he is saying/doing?

Genuine question.

He comes up with some stupid shit (inject bleech etc), but does he really think Ukraine entered the war, or is he playing silly 'mind games'?
