It appears that in each area where those Labour folk were on holiday and not working, the Democrats lost quite a lot of votes.
I'm delighted you've been able to find a Labour party angle on this

Or a raped and impregnated child. My admiration for Jacob Rees Mogg twindled after he admitted that he thinks such victims should have to carry the baby full term. Is Arizona that extreme?
"Arizona" isn't extreme, no. We have certainly had some extreme politicians over the years though (Sheriff Joe Arpaio, anyone?).

As a state it has had GOP control of the house and senate for almost all of the last 20 years. The GOP recently has tended to elect nut-jobs in its primaries who then get beaten by the Democrat opponent in the general election. It used to be regarded as a red state but it is very much a "purple" state these days. Our sitting Senator is a Democrat and it looks like Democrat Ruben Gallego will beat Kari Lake for the other Senate seat this time around. The Governor is a Democrat.

The abortion proposition is going to pass.

What's the mood like in AZ @AZ Gull. Looks like Trump is circa 6% up on voting.
I'm not sure I could tell you what the mood is like. I'm not an overtly political animal - I enjoy the drama of election night (in both the UK and the US) but I have little interest in following political media most of the time. I have a good friend who leans very heavily Democrat, who has been out canvassing recently, and I'm sure she'll be pretty devastated. I would guess most of my friend group would vote Democrat but I don't seek out political conversation.

I know there are some work colleagues who will be happy with Trump's victory but I would rather stick neeedles in my eyes than instigate a political conversation at work. If I'm engaging with someone on a personal level at work I would rather not know how they vote. There is a guy I used to work with here who was sports mad and I enjoyed engaging with him; on numerous occasions we went to Spring Training games and he's a decent guy. I knew he voted Republican but our conversation was mostly around sport and family. Once Trump appeared on the scene he became a huge fan; in the lead up to the Brexit vote he came to my office one day and said "That Nigel Farage, he's amazing isn't he?" It genuinely affected how I saw the chap and I found I no longer wanted to engage with him. He left the company a few years ago. So, political conversation is a huge no-no for me at work.

When all is said and done, although the result of this election wasn't what I wanted, the sun still rose this morning and it will still set this evening. I've just been out for a walk and the weather is (finally) superb. Life goes on.

The family photo of the Trump 'dynasty' including Elon Musk is a bit worrying

I could have moved to Texas in 2007 ( UK operation shutdown) but fortunately didn’t. Of those that did go a lot of them are involved ( if FB is anything to go by) to one level or another in various churches.
Speaking to one chap who lives in another part of the US, he says that in the mid west and southern states if you want to have any ‘life’ you need to join a church. It’s greatly frowned upon not to be in a church. You can be ostracised for such a crime.
As an atheist, I dodged a bullet …..
This is interesting in the land of the free where freedom and speech and expression are so valued. (allegedly anyway).

There absolutely will not be Democrats (and you'd need about 35% of them) voting to amend the Constitution to allow 3 term Presidencies to enable Trump, no. Obviously not.

For the avoidance of doubt, you cannot amend the Constitution with a majority, and the GOP have nothing close to the required senators/representatives to get such an amendment moving. They'd need a huge number of Dem senators/representatives to vote for it for an amendment to even get to the first stage of recommendatition
The numbers of senators and representatives can be changed - the senate can be flooded with republicans straight from the Proud Boys given time, and Trump also knows how to buy/forcefully acquire votes.
I admire your complacency, but you insist on living in the world as it is now (and ever shall be). Not long ago, it would have been considered impossible for a dangerous convicted criminal to become POTUS.
You seem to been in ignorance - or avoiding - the significance of the little word 'yet' - for instance,

So yeh, you're absolutely tight, there's nothing to worry about, nothing can happen.........

The Framers designed the constitution specifically to safeguard against the ‘yet’. That’s quite literally the whole point. Let’s revisit this in 4 years :)

And the constitution was framed so perfectly that it all turned out as it was intended? Right-oh, let's hear it for weapons grade repeating rifles on the streets!

I don't disagree with any of that, and it's those some that need to be kept in check on either side of the political divide. For example, removing women's rights to bodily autonomy by the extreme right, is just as bad as trying to remove their rights to female only spaces and sports by the extreme left.
This is another example of the stuff 'The Right' say. "remove their right to female-only space and sports by the extreme left"! Yes, lots of people are trying to come to terms with the weird conundrum of what to do about people who want to play women's sport, but were once men and now see themselves as women. This problem is tiny in the grand scheme of the world isn't it? It's not like that are 2 million trans people smashing female Rugby players into the ground. It's an infintesimal problem that nobody needs to be freaking out about. The media and right wing twats just make it out to be some earth-shattering problem.

And yes, there is also the problem of some men out there saying they are now women, but turning out to in fact be rapey men. That's not some woke left new world order bullshit. That's a sex offender using a cover to prey on people. The dickheads on the right actually make this worse by making it all about some existential fight to survive as a given gender.

Ironically, these "real, red blooded men" on the right need to stop being such utter melts.
