He's talking about party affiliation. Of course, that doesn't mean they actually voted for Trump:

So it does look like around 1 million more Republicans have voted, but a) there are about 1 million more registered Republicans in the state anyway, b) just because you are registered Republican, doesn't mean you'll vote Republican and c) Florida isn't a swing state (although some polls did so it surprisingly close).
One thing I've never understood is why, in the States, do you have to declare either Democrat or Republican when you register?

In the UK you just register to vote

There's a lot of noise from both sides but I stick to what I've thought for the past month - Harris will win the most votes and Trump will win the election. Can't see anything to shake that view
That's certainly where I'm right now, regrettably. Have been for a few days in fact.

I love America, I really do, but it's home to a hell of a lot of utter fucktards.

Don’t care about Trump. He’s a senile old fart and won’t be in post a year from now.

Vance though is f***ing dangerous, and paired with Musk is potentially the end of the western democratic order.

All noises so far pointing to a “high to very high” turnout.

You need to register to take part on primaries
OK - but why can't you just register to vote in the primaries without stating political allegiance.

I know in the main election tonight you can vote for anyone, but what happens in the primaries if you change your mind (it happens) are you stuck with voting for the party you registered under ?

Harris will win the popular vote by the sheer excess of dem support in california and big dem cities like NY and Chicago but that counts for little.

A few small semi surbaban counties nobody has heard of in the swing states well decide the future of US democracy, NATO, Putin in Ukraine and wether geopolitical balance is maintained or we descend into global chaos. I honestly believe its that serious.

I didn't like Vances comments about the UK and Muslims that was embarrassing. But everything else has seemed reasonable. He was interviewed today and told people not to fall out with families about their political allegiance.

And that family and love were the most important things in the world !

Doesn't really sound like a dangerous man

70% chance of a record turnout, you'll have no interest in reading!
I’m more interested in the actual turnout than what Joe Bloggs is guessing the turnout might be…

That sounds very much like a dangerous man. Pleading ‘love the neighbour’ on one side and then being a right little shit on the other.
